The one good thing about it: location. The restaurants in the area and the proximity to campus is great. But I don't feel safe walking down any street around here except Manor Rd at night and I'm a guy.
I'm on the first floor and my apt has flooded twice since I've been here. They've "fixed" the problem by pulling all the rocks and mud out of the drain but my guess is that in a few months, after a few more good rains, it will be clogged again. The last time it flooded it took nearly 6 hours to get someone out here with extractors and fans to help us dry out.
I'm living in floorplan B3 which they claim is 800 sq ft. I've measured the place and it's 20' 10" x 29'...that's just over 604 sq ft and that includes the A/C closet which is about 10 sq ft of useless space. I don't know where they get the other 200 sq ft unless maybe they count part of the space outside my front door as apt space.
The "stained" concrete floor is some kind of cheap brown junk that chips and peels and sticks to everything except the floor.
I have to get the plunger out once a month to unclog my toilet.
I've been here a year and I can count the times on one hand when I've had a consistently hot shower.
There are four laundry machines which mgmt said they are "looking in to" replacing and so far they've done nothing about them. There is always, always, always at least one broken washer and/or dryer in there so you're playing laundry roulette every time you do your laundry here.
The windows are old, like original equipment old. You can literally feel a cold draft in the winter and in summer the a/c runs full time to keep the place cool. And there are no screens so if you like to open your windows this time of year you'll have to deal with the flies and other pests that invite themselves in.
There's a party every weekend in this place, which can be good or bad depending on your viewpoint. Just keep in mind that it's a young crowd given the closeness to UT.
I've lived in a wide range of apts over the years and this is by far the worst.
