OK, where do I start.

The apartments flood. My apartment flooded twice. After the first time I was assured that it was fixed and would not happen again.

The Washers and Dryers steal your money. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers on site. Very old. They charge $1.25 per load. 3 out of the 4 dryers do NOT work. Washers shred your clothes.

Parking is a nightmare. You should expect to pay $25 for parking in the gate, because there is never parking on the street. However, your car is just as prone to be broken into in the gate as on the street.

Management is unresponsive. Never avaliable. Office is usually closed during business hours. Maintenence is a joke. You might as well fix your own A/C, or go buy a window unit.

Now, as for rent and deposits. Make sure you keep a copy of EVERYTHING. Lease, rent checks, deposits. Get everything in writing. I have yet to get my deposit back. It has been 3 months and they will not give me my deposit back (even though I have paperwork stating that the apartment was left in perfect condition and copies of the checks I wrote for deposits). It is not the managers fault. The home office refuses to refund my money. They say there books are correct, however I have checks that I paid Eastside Commons that were not put in there log.

Pest Infestations. I was fortunate not to have pest problems (with the exception of a small ant problem that went away after I bombed the apartment). But my neighbors have had rat problems, fly probems, roach problems....

The grounds. The grounds used to be very well maintained. They have let the place go. The pool is rarely cleaned, there is dog feces all over the property. They do not empty the trash bins that are outside. The yard is not maintained.

The only good things about this place is the location and the people who live there. However, I would not recommend you living here. Stay away from Eastside Commons.
