I know reviews about apartments can be biased because people rarely come on here to say anything good. I'm not going to bash this place, but just list my personal reasons for not recommending this place to live.

I am disappointed because I like the area - the trees, fields, trails, access to mopac, etc...but the reasons I have chosen to move depend mostly on the behavior of the office staff and manager and the condition of my apartment.

First reason for wanting to leave: Lived here a year now. We've had a bad mold problem. I won't go into detail, but it's pretty nasty. Management made shallow promises to take care of the problem, but really I think they are waiting until we move out to do anything about it. We reported the problem to them several times over 2 months and they said they would take care of it - they did not take care of it.

Second reason for wanting to leave: Roaches. We are not dirty tenants. We leave the occasional dish in the sink, but never have I had a problem with nasty bugs. Turn on the light in a just-scrubbed kitchen, watch 10 roaches scatter across your counters, floors, and don't even think about opening a drawer without inspecting what you're reaching in for. That goes for the dishwasher too. My boyfriend and I yell about how many roaches we just killed in the kitchen on a twice daily basis (morning, dinnertime). Don't leave cooking food on the stove...they'll crawl in your soup. I could go on and on, but i'll say that roaches are a big problem in this unit. I know a friend who lives next to the leasing office who also has a bug problem, so I know it's not just my building. Maintenance supposedly sprays, but it really doesn't do anything. I think they just come in the apartment and leave a sheet of paper and leave.

Oh, today we found the mother of all roaches. It was maybe 2 inches long by 1 inch wide. I have a picture that I will upload later to show you that I am not exaggerating.

Third reason: The office staff changes very quickly and the manager is rarely in the office. It's quite convienant on her part because no one can ever really answer your questions or help you. Pretty frustrating.

Fourth reason: A problem with homeless people liking to sleep on the benches and lounge at the pool. The latter was arrested.

Fifth reason: I live in the middle sized 1 bedroom. It has only ONE closet - the bedroom. No linen closet, no hall closet by front door. The layout is awkward, the bedroom and bathroom too small. The bedroom is poorly ventilated. I have to run the air super low just to get it cool enough to fall asleep while the rest of the apartment freezes. Love the energy consumption! Very economical! (Sarcasm)

The good:
-good hiking trail
-good access to mopac
-decently priced (but who would buy these as a condo!')
-fake wood floors (laminate)

The bad:
-roaches
-ants
-mold
-weird people knocking on your door who seem like they are on drugs (it's happened 3 times now)
-poor management, no tenant loyalty
-parking is too narrow
-poor insulation
-poor storage
-maintenance is slow, inefficient
-more questionable people moving in
-i've had 3 different neighbors across from me & 2 different upstairs from me
-2 different apartments completely flooding...sucks for them

And there you are people. Good luck.

I agree with you with everything, expect for the Roach problems. I've lived there for about 14 months and I've seen a few roaches, but nothing that a little spray didn't take care of. However the problem with the high turnover of the office staff and Tabitha the Property Manager, she tries...but she doesn't try hard enough. I had an AC problem for over a month and no one had the skills and knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve the problem. Good luck finding a maintenance person that speaks english.
