I liked it...

This is the first complex I lived in when I moved to Austin. Granted, that was 3 years ago, but I'd be remiss not to share my feelings on the place. My friend and I shared the two bedroom townhouse, and I had the non-master bedroom.
First of all, every time we had friends over, everyone expressed how much they liked our apartment. They always commented that it was spacious, that the complex had a neat layout (we always joked about the "moat"), and that we were getting a great deal.
I echo those sentiments. I also liked the security of the gates (and most of the time, having an on-duty security officer). The neighbors were both quiet and friendly. Although I love the amenities I now have living in college apartments, I found the laundry room, pool, and weight room there quite adequate.
Also, the office staff was always extremely polite and professional in my interactions with them. One of them in particular knew my name, and when she saw my parents helping me move out, she took the time to tell them that I was a good neightbor and that she was sad to see me leave. (Yes, she was still sweet to me after I had the cops called to shut down a crazy party I had.)
All in all, don't let anything deter you from checking this place out. The buildings may be old, but they make a good home.
