Super cheap for a lot of space, no huge maintenance problem, no real problems so far with maintenence. But the neighborhood' Super sketch. You don't notice it at first, but the neighboring complex, University Heights, makes it scary even to live at English Aire. Would definitely not recommend it for a girl living alone.

i'm house sitting for a friend here while he is out of town. Enlish Aire? A GOOD PLACE! constant maintenace to property in clear evidence. as for the neighborhood? 78741 does have a higher crime rate than most but this IS a complex of families for the most part and none of my female friends have expressed ANY uneasiness when visiting. hey, life can be life threatening! but unlesss you walk around with a neon sign that says victim on it you i doubt will have any problems. when my friend returns i intend to rent here w/ my child and have NO reservations about doing so. HAIL ENGLISH AIRE! this is a good complex, good residents, and a good place to live. NUFF' SAID!

78741 has the highest crime rate in all of Austin. The complex was once all students and young families, while now it's drug dealers, prostitutes and murderers. All the students have abandoned this complex and others on Burton Drive, the Burton Drive Shuttle is gone now, and merged with the Parker route, which has extremely low frequency. I would not live here if you are a student/staff member of UT.
