I believe there are a lot of people who move into apartments expecting it to be their own private home, which is never the case. Having lived in apartments my entire life I've come to expect certain things out of communities. Apartments can only do so much to alleviate problems with noise, neighbors and crime. The rest is left up to the residents.
Given this statement, here is an attempt at a fair rundown of what I view as the pros and cons of living at Escalon at Canyon Creek.
Pros
-----
1. Beautiful property, great pool area. The land truly is nice and if you can get a unit in the back building, you can get a really nice view.
2. Workout facility including restrooms is always clean and functional. Coffee bar isn't too bad and is great on cold days. The tv room is good for movies.
3. Recently decreased rental rates. You can get a huge apartment at a clean community for much less than most places.
Cons
-----
1. Electric bills are expensive due to Pedernales Electric and the aformentioned thin walls/insulation.
2. Outside noise from aforementioned thin wall/insulation problems.
3. There is only 1 trash compactor (load it in your car and drive to it) and has been known to flow like the Colorado River. The maintenance crew does take care of it relatively quickly, however.
