Escalon at Canyon Creek
AVERAGE RATING

Well i think i can write a review that is at least honest. I have lived at escalon since the beginning. I am finally moving out not because of anything other than the location. With the exception of a downstairs neighbor who played music loudly every once in a while I liked living here. The management is horrible but it's like that everywhere. Just expect it when you are renting. Bug them enough and you will get what you want. They forgot to give us notice on our lease twice and overcharged us. However after a week or so it got fixed. The people who told me they didnt like it were people who paid their rent late and got charged fees. Well duh..pay your rent on time. Don't live beyond your means! I lived in the back of the complex so I didn't really have much interaction with too many people. I paid for my covered parking and nothing ever happened to my car. A few times i had packages delivered and the office ladies were rude about going to look for it, but i was just like hey it's your job so get over it and give it to me. All in all it was ok. The place is nice, and the amenities are nice. I'm sure we are not going to get our deposit back but you have to expect that most places. I mean you are renting the place with no defects if you filled out the sheet correctly. If you mess up the apartment then you should have to pay for it. Maybe I am more laid back than most but I can tell you this the apartment does not deserve a 35% rating. I would give it at least an above average rating.

I completely agree with you. Been living there since July and just the basic problems. As long as you do your ---- on time, you're all set. I have good neighbors, AND I play the sax, and no noise problems at all. Staff is underpar, but I would probably hate my job too, so I just be nice to them and they are nice to you back. Smile and nod and you avoid confrontation.

The missing link here is that one should not have to "bug" management to do their job. And no, it is NOT like that every where. The complex itself is lovely. However, the staff, maintenance (or lack thereof), total inability to enforce the lease agreements unless it is in regard to rent payment, and the list goes on, is what puts them in with such a crappy rating . . . and well deserved I might add!

There are a lot of complaints about management that should be addressed, but people instead tend to tolerate it. There is no reason for anyone in that office to raise their voice to a customer, like what happened to me today. Not only did a staff member not want to assist me, she was down right rude. If they feel they have the upper hand, they will treat you like that IF you let them. The noise and the thin walls are not worth what I paid in rent. Although I paid my rent on time, they still found a reason to try and jack with my deposit. They have to remember that rude works both ways.
