Forget about leasing office staff, maintanence and all the other problems.
These all can be lived with.

There is one decisive reason why you should not move to Escalon.....
!!!!!!*NOISE*!!!!!!

Buildings look nice on the outside, but do not be tricked, - they are built hardly better than dog houses!
Somebody cut some major corners during the construction, which make me think that bribes go a long way with the local building inspection authority that enforces housing standards.

These buildings were not built for real human beings. I can hear all of my neigbours' activities as if they were happenning in the next room. Closing doors, talking, walking, you name it... This is horrible. This constant invasion of sounds drives me crazy. I am wearing ear mufflers on top of ear plugs. Still does not help.
Ok, it does reduce noise, but it does not reduce !*VIBRATION*!. Everything VIBRATES!

Unless you walk on tiptoe - the floor and everything around you - VIBRATES!

God forbid you to rent an apartment below or above somebody with kids or some punks or gangbangers, that are plenty at Escalon. Even if your neighbours are quiet people be prepared to hear them as if they lived in your next room.
