The apartments here do seem quite nice from the exterior and aren't quite bad inside. My real problem began when I was moving in. First of all, I know that rules are rules and I am a rule follower, but I do beleive that under some circumstances...explanation should be considered.
I was doing a favor for my parents by watching their bulldog while they were out of town...attending a funeral...and at the same time trying to deal with the hassles of moving. In previous experience, most pets can visit for up to 2 weeks then they must depart. So in signing the lease with the very rude, in a hurry lady she never said anything about visiting pets. So I have not been in my new apartment for even 3 days!!! and I am getting a notice for my so called pet. This really irritates me... So I call the office and talk to a semi-sweet girl and explain to her my situation and I told her that my parents planned on coming to get their dog the upcoming weekend. So, everything seems to be cool. Well, it turns out that my parents could not make it to Austin that weekend and were going to have to delay picking up the dog another week. Then, I get the very, very rude call from one of the managers saying that "there has been some complaints about me having the dog there," which I think is bull*@#%. All of our neighbors were quite nice and really liked her. So, they slapped me with a fine of $100 in the first couple of weeks that I had been there. To say the least...this was completely out of my hands. What was I suppose to do' She is a pretty pricey pet and I just could not leave her somewhere. I feel that staff should have been a little more considerate and should have realized that it was completely out of my hands. To top things off, I spoke to another resident about what happened to me. It turns out that they have people within the apartment complex constantly watching you to see if you are violating any rules. Little did I know that there is one of those people living in the small building next to me. I don't know about you...but that is kind of creepy. I know that it is good to enforce rules, but having someone constantly watching is just wrong.
As I get to know more people...they just explain to me how managment is so anal about every little thing. Again, I want to be able to live a little... I have now been here about a month and are regreting it TREMENDOUSLY!!!

Well, like you said yourself, rules are rules. Even though I hated living at Escalon (for completely different reasons), I have to agree with management here. Rules must be enforced. During my time at Escalon they were not and that was the problem. At least they follow the rules, it seems, as far as pets are concerned. So I feel no sympathy for you. What you should have done is to talk to the management(though I agree with you here, - I'd rather have my teeth pulled than talk to them because they ARE rude) or take your dog to a pet shelter. |

If you feel that you have a verifiable complaint, I strongly suggest that you communicate with the management company for this complex. Regardless of whether you violated the lease and the fine was to the letter of the lease, rudeness from the staff is not excusable. Contact the real property management at ibelli@sentinelcorp.com |

Thanks for that email address to the management company. More people should complain there until they get someone who can run the management office there.
