I have been at Escalon for almost four years and my number one complaint is the parking. The staff will tell you that there are at least 2 spaces for every apartment and that is a complete lie. I have a problem coming home at night and having to park across the complex and walk across the badly lit parking lot. The maintenance was good when I first moved in and now it is below par. They do not replace broken/worn items with quality items. I also do not like the piled up garbage outside the compactor....does not portray an appealing place to live. The staff is not like they use to be that is for sure. When I moved in, the staff was absolutely wonderful...almost 4 years later, there is a lot of laziness and lack of caring coming from the office staff.

What about the insect problem? Everyone in my building is sick of having to get pest control out every week. You complain to the office, and they say they'll tell the pest control guy that the sprays don't work but they keep doing the same thing week after week.

More new office staff. They never last. If you want to know what kind of people they're renting to now, go up and look at all the new staff. The assistant manager is the biggest b$#@$ ever. She probably didn't even get her GED. You don't give people that dumb any power. You know people like that will abuse it. They've been walked over their entire lives because they're trashy and dumb, and you know they are going to take it out on YOU!! Make sure you meet her before you rent. She is a true reflection of how unpleasant the Escalon really is. This isn't the ghetto, so why do they employ such low class people? When you talk to this hood rat she will make you feel like you're trying to get one over on her. I just wanted to say to her, 'honey, I have class, I'm not trying to cheat you, lie to you, you're irrelevant, so get over yourself'. When you call up to the office, they never answer the phone. They don't want to hear about your insect/trash problems. If you're thinking about renting here, I implore you, DON'T.

Parking is a major nightmare. If you come in after 8 p.m. you are going to have a problem. I don't know what the deal is with the staff. Staff come and go all the time. It's like a revolving door over there. I know the person the last review was talking about. She is there simply to find ways to make the complex more money by stiffing the tenants. An absolute nightmare. My Concordia friends don't rent here. This is a bad place for Concordia people. You do not even want to know the things that have been happening at this place recently. They are renting to the kind of people YOU do not want to live beside. Then again, all the staff speak da Espanol, so that's great for all the newer tenants. You will be watched here all the time. Lots of our newer people don't seem to be gainfully employed. The only thing these people are working is the system. There are lots of really great apartments in North Austin - this isn't one of them.
