My experience at Escalon has been pretty good so far.
The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous. Looks more like a resort than an apartment complex. The 24 hour gym is somewhat small but satisfactory. The free movie rentals are nice, as well as the scenic jogging trail and the pool.
Maintenance has been good so far. I ve only had a few issues, and they were always resolved within 24 hours. Once my microwave went out, and they replaced it with a bigger better one the next day. Thanks guys!

Now on to the bad:

As the others have said before, parking is a nightmare! It is soo worth it to pay extra for a garage. Earlier this year, I lost my garage door opener, had to pay $25 and wait a week for a new one. During that week, I tried to leave work early everyday to try and get home before all the spaces were taken. It really sucked.

The buildings are nice, but on closer inspection appear to be cheaply built. The grout in my kitchen floor tiles has been cracking and the siding on the counters breaks easily (Im sure my deposit will be charged for that one). Walls are very thin and have zero insulation. I swear, within five minutes of turning off the heater, you are going to be balls freezing again. Noise carries very easily.

The trash situation is completely unacceptable. One dumpster for the entire complex'' Every time I take my trash out theres a massive pile of garbage in plain sight from the overflowed dumpster. Its unsanitary and digusting. They seriously need to look into offering a valet trash service.

The management does need some improvement. The office is always understaffed and appears to have a high turnover rate as it seems there is someone new every time I go to pick up my mail. Sometimes there s even a "Will return later" sign posted during their normal business hours.

Also, I m not sure if this had anything to do with the management, but once I found several flyers on my mailbox, the business center, the gym, and the rec room advocating a Bible study group that condemned promiscuous and homosexual people among other things. I was seriously offended by this.

My WORST complaint yet though:
Two months ago I had some new neighbors move in upstairs. I have no idea what the hell they are doing up there, but there is constant slamming and banging that shakes the walls to frightening degree. It starts as early as 6:30am and goes on til 2-3 in the morning. Management has done nothing! I ve left several messages with the office, and have never gotten a return call. I ve called the police on two different occasions when it got especially bad at night. Management just doesn t seem to care. It really sucks, but I left a message with the office that if my sleep is disturbed again, I will be seeking legal action and I will make sure and mention the lack of response on their part.
