To get mad or not to get mad...

...That is the question...

I personally am a active duty service member of the Army and have been since I was 17 (1996). I have been overseas once in my military career and I have been through the most drilling and challenging of environments.

When it comes to living at The Falls @ Bullcreek, it is true that the water is out sometimes. I am a bit on the fence when it comes to where to direct my concerns and/or frustration. I used to direct it towards the management at the leasing office.

After living here for two years, I've noticed that last year the front apartments used to be the ones that would occasionally go out of water, while the back apartments were fine.. Each time the would fix it, they would replace the pipes with brand new piping. Now, the tables have turned and it is only the back apartments that occasionally go out of water. True, like some below me mentioned, this year it's more than usual.

However, my theory is that eventually as they begin to replace the pipes in the back (as they did the front) the problem will soon fix itself. Perhaps I would've been furious by now, thinking that management doesn't care about us. But after talking with them, I realize that the maintenance, security, and managers all live here too and when the water goes out, that means no water for them as well and they are as frustrated as we are.

OVER-ALL: I've decided not to get angry anymore because
1)I know that they are working on it right away because they also like to have water in their home

2)I found out that the wait is them waiting on the new pipes to come in.

3)My theory is that this problem will soon resolve itself (keeping fingers crossed)

4)I recognized that by speaking with management in a calm reasonable manner, they really are on top of this issue as soon as they learn about it and they will give us all of the details.

5)I've been in situations much worse in my experiences, so to me, being patient is worth the reasonably-priced rent I'm paying for a great location in a great spacious apartment.

6)I am still very picky and have lived in various apartment complexes right here in Austin. So I can honestly say that this management really does care about us; we are not just a number to them (which is far more than I can say for the 4 other complexes I've resided in).

7)Anytime I have an issue, maintenence always has it fixed by the time I come home from work that same day.

So as long as I am stationed here in Austin, I will continue to live here. Customer service is more important to me than living in a totally upscale snobby complex with snobby management. If you do not wish to deal with the current situation, maybe moving out is better for you. But I believe that by being patient, it would be beneficial to us all. We are all in this together. So hopefully they will be able to resolve our issues soon.

i understand it happens. but it think the thing to consider here is that they dont get it fixed in a timely manner, nor do they offer us any resolution or solution for the problem in the mean time. you do not expect me to believe that it takes two days for them to get pipes in. we are in austin texas, not podunk small town usa. WE have resources that other cities do not have and san antonio is only an hour away. BUT it is not the city who they have been calling to come out and fix it this last year. it has been some small company with young guys twittering their thumbs and smoking cigarettes the majority of the time. And here we are 4rth day this week the Water is still out. I called yesterday afternoonish and they said they had it fixed but it blew the valve and the patch SO it was effed up again. Then I called this AM and they said they have to replace the pressure valve. And the part apparently has to come in from dallas and so whatever time the part finally gets here will determine whether they can start working on it today or if it will have to wait until tomorrow. Im so angry. and i do believe i have every right to be. i used to love living here but this past yr has been more than pitiful concerning their untimely response to these issues. and so i believe i have every right to be angry and to let others know what is going on so they do not make a mistake by signing here. with this place going thru bankruptcy court who knows where it is headed. i asked someone in mgmt YESTERDAY who corporate is these days, like who owns the apt complex and he straight up said "he had no idea. they are going thru bankruptcy court and people are trying to buy them, but i dont even know ". well all be, they sure do cash those checks, but yet you can't tell me where that money is going to or who owns them???!!! this is the biggest dog and pony show i have seen in a long time, and i'm ready to get off and be heard.

Like whoa. CB, (not directed at naeday17) after reading a few posts on here, it seems as though every time someone has a different point of view than you do, you attack them or accuse them of working there. I understand you are mad and have every right to be. But don't direct it at the wrong people. If you doubt my residency, email me and we can meet for a cup of Starbuck's Mocha, but only if you're paying! ;-) Or you can catch me by the mailboxes coming in from work usually around 6:00-6:30pm T-Fr. I'm not too sure why you are so disrespectful towards me or what I do for a living, but I am in the same boat as you. And NEWSFLASH: although I am in the Army, YES, I pay rent too. You unfortunately missed my whole point. That said; if you are so unhappy, why don't you take your attitude (which is not helping the situation) and your hostility somewhere else and move out and keep calling that Austin Tenant's Council number? It is your choice and you have every right to go. So GO. And if you want anyone to take you seriously, stop posting anonymous.

If you are indeed a resident here, you're either someone who works with the complex staff or is friends with them. I live in the apt facing the greenbelt & my water has been out 9 times already within this past year alone. If it's true that my apt has only been effected half of the time as you mentioned in your review, then there is a SERIOUS problem with the water situation in this complex because 9 x 2 times in one year for the water to be out is RIDICULOUS. If management is so on top of things as you claim, then they should put notices on every door before they turn the water off in the complex. I was actually just speaking with my neighbor right below us & they told me that they tried to warn us beforehand that the water was going to be out (unfortunately we weren't home for that warning) because they have a friend who works in the office & that friend had warned them. On Halloween when the water was out (yet again), my first floor neighbor actually warned us several hours beforehand that the water would be shut off because they happened to go into the office that day. What does that tell you... That the office knows well in advanced when & if the water is going to be shut off, but doesn't care enough about all their residents to give them fair warning by putting notices on people's doors. You'll only get fair warning if you're a friend of theirs or happen to go into the office that day. So, the water was out Halloween, the day after, yesterday, & again today. I'm about to leave for work for the second day in a row with NO shower because the water is still NOT on! It is simply unsanitary to go 4 days in less than a week with NO WATER. I can't believe I have to go to work two days in a row with no shower & no way to flush my toilet. It is illegal for them to know in advance about a serious situation like this - making people go for days without water - & to not giving fair notice! This is not the military - I pay rent here so am not in training to survive extreme conditions like 4 days with no water in one week. For those of you who wish to report the illegalities of what's going on with this complex, I suggest you call the Austin Tenants' Council. #512-474-1961. The more people that tell them what's going on here, the better the chance that this won't continue much longer in the future. By the way, I do believe that them consistently turning the water off as many times as they have done without fair warning gives every tenant here a legitimate right to break their lease... Hit them where it hurts!!!

When a pipe breaks it happens suddenly therefore nobody knows or can prevent what's about to happen. The Office staff cannot foresee the future to send out notices. I feel bad for you, but like the other person said ??you just have to patient or if you don??t like your current situation Move out.?? Unfortunately these people don??t have control over the pipes. He had a really dry summer and that??s what??s affecting the pipes. This happens every where. I think that you have to educate yourself a little bite and stop blaming the office or maintenance staff.
