you get what you pay for

The rent was cheap. really cheap. but so was the apartment. Lumpy floors, crooked drawers & counters, thin walls (high bills & noisy neighbors), parking is not very good, and if you don't park in a safe spot (in front of occupied apartments under lights) there's a good chance you'll get broken into. My roommate's car stereo was stolen, and every car in the row he was parked in had their windows broken that night. The day before we moved out, we got another notice about a rash of breakins.
The floorplan on our two bedroom was terrible. pretty much everything was cramped. Very narrow kitchen, narrow hallway through the center of the apartment, low ceilings. no open space. very cramped feeling even though the floorspace wasn't that small.
The pool was great. very cool design, plenty of space, lots of fun.
The staff is very nice and helpful. One or two of them knew my name, even though I pretty much only went there to pay rent.
