Just Say NO!!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I have to say that this was the WORST apartment that I have ever lived in, and I pretty much moved every 6 months since I moved to Austin 13 years ago. We, too, were shown that model and told that it was EXACTLY what we were getting, even with the shelves in the storage closet outside. When we requested to see OUR apartment we were told it wasn't ready...we even said okay, we'll wait til the day before we move in to view it before we sign. They told us "we won't have it ready til the morning you move in." Stupidly we had already put down a deposit and felt we had no choice but to go along with it. HUGE mistake. I have never had a $88 dollar water bill...ever..in my life, but got many of those at Bull Creek, along with those$250 elec. bills (when we didn't use a/c or heat for 2 MONTHS). I didn't mind the racoons walking around along the edges of our bathtub and under the floors (we were "ground" floor) cuz I like animals, but they did scare the crap out of us in the middle of the night somtimes.
Our floors, too, were uneven and sunken, carpet dirty, fridge door wouldn't stay open (had to be propped to put up groceries) because the whole apartment leaned...remember the leaning house at Six Flags' Yeah. Noisy fools in the parking lot, people going up the stairs shakes the whole apartment, ants, roaches, 10 pages of work orders for the bozos to do right when we moved in, such as CLEANING. There was still hair in the bathtubs (curly...gross!!) and food in the sinks,fridge..it looked like this complex never had anyone clean the joint (besides the people that just moved out) before we got there. Found a big hairball in the master closet...tons of mildew in the bathrooms. A bonus was the space..the place was pretty big and had lots of storage...but not worth it. You can compain about the noise and probs til your tongue falls off and the management won't do anything. We got the same bull s*** excuse when we report high bills...I pointed out a half inch gap b/n the wall and the sliding glass door where all our cool air was getting out and the maint. man had the nerve to say "oh, that doesn't affect the electric bill." Ummm...I'm no rocket scientist but... My husband bought some weatherstripping and we just rigged it ourselves. Bottomline...Stay Away!!!! Go to San Marin and pay a little more...or Barton's MIll...that one can be noisy and is old, too, but the maintenance staff is the bomb and you won't get screwed!!
