NOT SO GREAT OF A PLACE...FOR SURE
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 10/7/2008
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I lived in The Falls on Bull Creek for 6 months before canceling my lease. Before I moved to Austin, I came and talked to the staff and saw the model and thought it would be a decent spot with a decent price. Well, the previous staff was VERY helpful and so kind. I moved in and saw that my apartment wasn't nearly as nice as the model they showed me but I thought that I would just deal since I did move all my stuff into this place from 2000 miles away, it was a pretty location right on Bull Creek, and the management was very friendly. Well, two months after moving in, all the friendly faces I saw in the office before were let go and new management replaced them with new employees. These guys were such jerks. I asked them numerous times if they could move me or at least do something about the poor insulation and all they said was that they couldn't do anything about it. I lived on the ground floor which was elevated so that you could see under it and there was absolutely NO insulation! My electricity bill was huge in the winter and the floors in my apartment were freezing all the time. I'm not the type of person to run the heat all of the time because I like to conserve (and we moved from Alaska so we don't mind the cold as much) but I had to in order to at least not have to use my sub zero sleeping bag at night and to let my 1 year old crawl on the floor without turning into a little ice cube. Also, they always talked about how they don't allow certain breeds of dogs and I saw the assistant manager (who was living there) walking his dog who happened to be a pit bull...weird. AND, the trash is out of control. People are too lazy to take their trash bags to the dumpster so they leave their trash bags sitting outside their doors and animals get into them at night and leave garbage juices all over the place...which maintenance fails to clean up. One of my neighbors left a Taco Cabana take out carton, pizza box, and an old pair of dirty flip flops outside her door that stayed there for (I kid you not) 3 weeks until I called about it!
Anyway, we wrote them a later stating that because of the fact that the apartment was so poorly insulated and our utility bills were so high, we were ending our lease. We ended up buying a house that is more than twice the size of our apartment and we pay the same amount that we were paying in rent AND our electricity bill is about 15% of what we were paying when we lived at the Falls on Bull Creek.
