WOW! I flagged this prop as a favorite because I almost moved there earlier this year and didn't because a friend in Ireland (of all places) found this list of reviews when I mentioned it and forwarded it to me. The interwebs is good, how else can a friend across the globe warn you of evils in your own town? These reviews which were tragically hilarious just kept me away. I printed them all and showed them to my friends and co-workers for a laugh-a-thon, from that, I heard all kinds of first and second account horror stories about the place, which abound. Everytime I see the "move in" banners outside of the complex I feel like tagging this website at the bottom. Ha! wouldn't that be hilarious?

Don't be a racist victim to your slum lord! Slumlords occur because WE allow them to get away with it so much THEY get comfortable. I, for one, feel that the illegal population in the complexes are powerless and it is up to us, to the US citizens, to give our neighbors, weather you like them or not, a voice. They are as uncomfortable in the crappy places as any one--we're all human here. They have no one to succor to, YOU DO. Take back your own power and realize that if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.

Contact the austin tenants council, http://www.housing-rights.org/contact.html You can get a free lawyer. You were smart and took photographs.

And you should make this litigious just be be a pain in their ass. When you go back into the office take a recorder. you Digital snapshot camera should have recorder capabilities. I did that at my complex because the weekend help was an antagonistic ------- I went to turn in a work order for my AC to get fixed, that sort of think needs to get fixed right away but the dude said they'd get to it by wenesday. I contacted the austin credit council about it and the long and the short, what he said to me was there on tape ...er MVI... and that gave the head manager the ability to fire him. Which was the right thing, someone so intent in the discomfort of others should not be working in the housing industry which is a most basic need and requires benevolent personalities involved. These people should be selling crap used cars.

Thanks for posting the warnings. you were smart to take pictures before you moved into the place, use them.

I'ts funny how you can find out how many people are racist in this country towards hispanic people (just because there hispanic there illegal???? )I guess some people are just plain ignorant......(so now we have to be walking around with our greencards on our hands? since when? next time please sit down and think before opening your mouth.....

The review was accurate. I still live there, moving soon. There are indeed rats (we just got a cat to solve that one. Roaches just move from apartment to apartment when they come to spray. The management is aweful and there were recently two shootings there...not fatal but there should not be shootings in an apatment complex at all! There ARE many people living here with NO green cards. One is my neighbor and a decent woman but the reviewers remark about everyone neing illegal was an exaggeration. (Probably to make a point). I am not racist or even white and I am here and can see who is living here. Last year a friend was killed here...management called it a "suicide"...detectives were investigating as homicide. The "Hot tub" is not hot and has become the "baby pool" and reeks of pee. Some saturdays I have to watch out for vomit in the parking lot. It is not a great place to live. Beware. The cost of rent varies. One person can go in and get one rate, while white middle class looking people get cheaper rates? Cute girls get the cheapest (my friends in college...). Maintenence condones people to jump from the third floor balcony into the pool! It is a nightmare! Just avoid it.

I hav'nt been living here too long however I have yet to see a roach or a rodent in our apt yet ,I have seen a snall mouse ,however it was in the parking lot and it was quite dead . The way I look at it , mice were herelong before this complex ever existed and my educated guess is that they will be here long after were gone ! as far as the maint. aspect goes , the maint.crew has always been on top of every and any request we have put in , the work , though not up to a professional standard , will suffice , parking is no problem and if some drunken a**holes would not crash into the gate , maybe it would work ! access by unauthorized persons is existant because anyone could come on the property and do mischief and leave quickly , if the apt owner(s) wern't so damn cheap , the maint. aspect would be much better however we all know how greedy landlords are , quick to take your money but hesitant to give you security and excelent management . now for the management aspect of this complex , the two women here work hard to try and satisfy every tennant , but who in the hell can acomplish that archaic task ?! I have no problem and I know how hard it is to make even one person happy let alone a 129 unit complex , however , they do their best to satisfy the tennants as best as they can .There are a considerable amount of inconsiderate people ( mostly hispanic) who bring shopping carts from the TARGET store onto the property and leave them by the dumpster , as if they were trash , they cost Target quite a bit of money so if they bring carts onto the property they should get off their lazy asses and bring them back , its something called "common courtesy" its not a right , it's a privilage they all take for granted . Call me a raceist or whatever you want me to be labled as in your eyes , I just call it as I see it .Bottom line is , the apartment complex is only going to be as good as its tennants allow it to be and good places are hard to find in the "04" that don't cost you an arm and a leg , so if we were courteous to each other and got rid of the riff raff , drug dealers , junkies , and illegals this complex would run alot smoother and if the owner would loosen his grip on the money this place could be a nice place to live , as far as the shootings go , wake up ,you're in TEXAS did you expect anything less , someone comes in our place without our permission they might as well "kiss their ass goodbye" because I will blast them into next week and screw what the A.P.D. thinks I will protect what is mine and the only way they will get my weapon is to pry it out of my cold , dead hand .
