Let me tell you how lovely it has been living for 5 months with a raccoon that I lovingly named Mr. Belvedere. I can always count on this fuzzy friend to be scurrying up my bathroom wall each day at sundown, shaking the faucet sink as I scurry in horror out of the tub, wondering if it will indeed make it through the wall this time and join me in the bath. Occasionally I get the pleasure of hearing it screaming through the walls, tearing up insulation, and the best thing is the ever-emerging yellow stains on the ceiling that I am truly hoping is raccoon p*ss. The management has been so helpful about making sure Mr Belevedere feels at home in our ceiling, and always offers a fake smile and a promise to do nothing that really makes me feel like I am being cared for by incompetant blowhards. If you would love to live with an animal sharing you ceiling for FREE, then come to the Gables. It is truly like living in Wild America.

Wild america?? If ONE raccoon is the only animal you've encountered while living in a greenbelt, I would say it's far from wild. Though your experience sounds horrible, I'd say you must not have had a SINGLE other issue to conclude that the management staff are incompetent.
