Way too expensive for what you get

I lived there for three years and was generally not very happy there. The traffic noise from Mopac was so loud that I could never open my windows or balcony door, and the sound of the semi-trucks at night really bothered me while I tried to sleep. I also lived by the security gate which clanked open and shut all night.
Office staff was not very receptive. When I was temporarily incapacitated from an injury they acted galled and annoyed when I called to ask if someone from the office could come to my unit to pick up the rent check. Another time, the door to the storage unit on the balcony below my apartment had come open (the apt was unoccupied) and was banging ceaselessly against the balcony railing. Try sleeping throught THAT without going nuts! It took them several days and two more calls to go do the simple task of closing it, even when I explained that it was keeping me awake every night.
My air conditioner froze up on a regular basis. I finally learned that I could fix it quicker myself defrosting it with a blow dryer (and an hour of my time) than waiting several days for maintenance to come fix it. I had to do this several times.
When the Gables bought the complex, they hiked the rent so high I nearly went into shock. When my lease was up I found a much better deal elsewhere -- a much nicer apartment for a lot less money, and with 200 more square footage, to boot! Keep looking -- there are much better deals to be had in Austin.
