It Takes Two...or more

I've written a couple of less-than-flattering reviews in the past. While I still have some issues with the way High Oaks handles certain situations, I am finding that they are more than helpful and quick to respond. This place backs up to what are basically woods, so there are some wild creatures (an occasional raccoon late at night or the fragrance of a skunk from time to time); but it's their home, too.
I really love the fact that there are actually trees here. And that it's close to shopping and that it is a relatively quiet environment.
The issues I have are that while they keep the visible grounds (meaning the areas that prospective tenants would see), some of the back areas are never cleaned. One area has detritus including the cover from the patio light, beer cans, empty plastic containers, paper, trash in general, all sitting amongst at least 6 months of dead leaves.
And management has made absolutely no efforts to become green. There are two recycling containers at the dumpster. One is for paper, one for plastic, etc. It's emptied once a week. This complex is large enough to require at least two of each as there are a lot of eco-conscious people living here! The two containers usually fill up the day they are emptied.
And finally, communications from the office are hit and miss. Notifications of any sort of work on the buildings is usually not given. The fire extinguisher fiasco in which the notification had the wrong date of 3 years ago was followed by a threat to fine people if they didn't put their extinguishers outside their doors. Now it has turned into a threat to charge if anyone has to come into the apartment to get the extinguisher for inspection.
It's just a lot of inconsistency and lack of communication. This can be found almost anywhere. As long as they stay out of my stuff, I'll stay out of theirs.
I am saying I'd recommend living here; but I would do so with reservations.
