We have had nothing but trouble since we moved in. The staff is a group of kids who act like high schoolers. One time I walked into the office and was greeted with 'What do you want''- The apartments themselves are falling apart, but they keep spending money on repainting the pool deck and landscaping. The jacuzzi was ice cold from September to March. It still varies in temperature. No one ever has any idea about what's going on. They're trying very hard to make this place look upscale, but don't be fooled. They have a common area that tenants can 'rent' but they rarely let people rent it. This place was a bad choice.

Also, according to a conversation I overheard from one of the leasing agents, many of the positive reviews on this site are actually the kids in the office making the place look nice.

I don't think the manager is a kid and if you were greeted with what do you want do you really think anyone would believe that. I asked the "kids" in the office if they ever looked at their reveiws because I do and they knew nothing about this site. I am rented the common area next month and my understanding it was close because it was being updated. Have you seen it? It looks great and so does the pool deck better than that old red stain. What do you do hang around in the office listening to the kids, get a life dude. Move if you are so unhappy. High Oaks is a nice place to live.

OK, explain the logic of someone not believing that someone would be greeted with 'what do you want?' when entering the office? I've had no trouble with those working in the office. However, they are young and their focus doesn't seem to be caring for tenants' needs, but in keeping a good front. And I have chosen to expect very little from the office staff. Watch when they're interviewing a potential tenant. They're much warmer and attentive than when talking with someone who already lives here. As to the manager: No, she isn't a kid, but she has screamed at me over the phone when I was upset over an unnecessary and unannounced maintenance action that interfered with my entering my apartment.
I'd also like to point out that the purpose of posting here is to provide information for potential tenants. Therefore, 'move if you are so unhappy' need not apply.
Oooh, and 'get a life dude'. Now there's an intelligent comeback.
