We've been living there for almost a year and we probably will be moving out when our lease is up. We love the layout, the apartment layout is unique and the grounds are well kept. However, security has become an issue for us. There has been a rash of car and apartment burglaries (26 in 2004). Just yesterday a member of APD gave a class on security. My whole beef with Highlands Hill Country is why don't they just hire a security guard' They can afford to have a roaming tow truck that will tow your car if you are parked incorrectly or in the wrong space but can not provide adequate security to make us feel safer. And the gates are always open - I would guess to say that maybe 20% of the time the gates are working properly. We're moving out before we become the next victims.
