Unacceptable move out experience

The apartment was generally fine. The only drawback was the explosive noise outside my bedroom window everytime any of four Heat-AC units went on.
The huge drawback was the gaming of the pricing on the lease at renewal, such at a lease price of $890, with two months free, so I'd pay the prorated rate. First, the dim-wits in accounting never gained clarity on the proper rate even though recorded on my lease. I'd get a threatening note in my door demanding additional payment, so I'd have to go explain to the front office what my lease means. They'd say "okay" without apology! Happened every **** year!
The worst is the scamming in the event of early departure. I had to leave three months early due to a relocation. I went to the office in person, paid in full to the end of the lease, provided full details about my next address (for refund of security deposit etc.), and was told everyhing was perfect. Six months later, a collection agent called demanding payment of "early termination fee". Okay, so maybe that possibility was in my lease though I paid to the end -- language in the lease is not clear, and the person I left my key with did not know this. I should have asked my friends to drop the checks each month and the key at the end. Fine. But then they lost my contact info, and used a collection agent to track me via family' Unacceptable. I was a perfect tent for nearly 4 years (never a moment late on rent, never any noise or trouble or emergencies), and they treated me terribly.
