bad apartment, bad staff

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
the complex cashed our security deposit before we were even approved for the apartment, we had no idea if we were approved and when they finally told us yes; we had no idea what apartment # it was. I did the walk through the day we were to move in. the place was roach infested, standing water in the washer (leak) , no ice maker as promised, the door knobs in the bathroom look like someone took a hammer to them, the garbage disposal did not work, one of the electrical outlets did not work. Whenever the staff came to fix stuff, it appeared like they did not know what they were doing. ( for example, the electrical outlet was not fixed, they just capped it off-)I had to purchase foggers to gas the apartment to get the roaches out (3times). Office staff told us that they are not allowed to spray and that they could only bait ( which takes weeks to get rid of roaches that way, but yet we were expected to move in anyway.) The staff replaced the door knobs, fixed the washer, and garbage disposal that day- so that was cool (and we thanked them), But the disposal broke 2 additional times -they just finally replaced it. The ice maker was installed and is the only thing that seemed to not have a problem! a week after we moved in, the dishwasher backed up and there was water on the kitchen floor. The dishwasher had standing water in it for 4 days before they came to fix it. So needless to say the 1st month and a half was stressful, we did not want to even come home, because something would be wrong. We finally got rid of the roachs. (after we complained enough, the complex finally sent a memo out to the whole bldg , and our whole bldg was baited-) . As if that was not enough, we get a notice in our mail box that we have not paid our full pet deposit of 300.00 , we had only paid half ( 150.00). This is not true, we paid the full 300.00 before we moved in ( which they cashed like that day!) We informed the office we had paid it and showed them our bank statement. They said sorry , and the records would be correted. It came time to pay 2nd months rent. we got an email they we still owed them 150.00 for the pet dep. and they took it out of our rent check. This now made us short on rent and we owed them money. I finally had to call the office and threaten them that i would call the corporate office if they could not clear this up- had to show them the bank statement again-. This is the worse apartment i have ever lived in, the worse management ever ( they have no idea what they are doing) i have been nice , put i can't stand it any more, this place sux, the only good thing about it is the location, it's in a great residential area. we are just waiting for a lease to be up and pray that nothing else falls apart, please think about it before you move to this place!
