Parking
Parking is a Nightmare. Management had the balls to turn regular parking spaces into reserved UNCOVERED spaces to make a quick buck. (I think they used cardboard and nail polish to mark the spaces). Then they charge you to park there on a monthly basis. Half the markings are faded, half have no one parking in them because they moved or no longer wanted to pay the $50 a month rate. Good luck finding a parking spot anywhere near your building after 6pm. There are certain parts of the parking lot that are obviously one way driveways that people constantly go down the wrong way causing blocks and annoyances.


Noise
There are fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances here 3-4 times a week. Ive talked to the cops and found out multiple people have been shot and stabbed during domestic disturbances. Between all the yelling and random screams, people holding parties on their porches, multiple people huddling around their cars yelling at people on the other side of the complex, people putting $500 loud mufflers on their POS $1000 KIAs and NEONs, people blaring all sorts of music from their cars at all hours, Speeding through the parking lot at 50 mph, and peeling out of the parking lot, Good luck getting sleep on the weekend. Also, SOME walls are paper thin, and there are spots you can hear your neighbors clear as day. Most of the people who live here have no respect for other people when it comes to noise. I really hope one or two of you read this and take a hint.

Grounds
The amount of cigarette butts and dog crap littering the grounds is disgusting. The trash often piles up around the dumpsters and i have seen rats on more then one occasion. If you think i am lying look around the dumpsters, you will see rat droppings all over the place. There is also an infestation of stray cats. Not 5 or 10 but 50-100. I do know know what cheap trees they have, but when they flower and drop their seeds, they stick to your car and can ruin your paint job. They also leave this waxy film of your windshield that takes nothing less than paint thinner to remove. Children are like roaches scattering themselves around at all hours without parental supervision. Screaming, yelling, cussing. Half of the outdoor lighting does not work. 3-4 times during the summer a water main breaks, and water is shut down to the majority of the complex sometimes for days without notice or concern for sanitation.

Safety
Half of the lighting does not work. Other than the stories Ive heard from credible people about those getting mugged, beaten, and carjacked, its as safe as a prison yard. P.S. There are a lot more registered sex offenders in this area then what the safety map shows. Most live in this apartment complex.

Construction
These apartments must have been built in the 70s. The were called international residence because every building had a theme from a different country and were different colors. Now they are all a nasty diarrhea brown with a few of the wood rot boards replaced. They have decent square footage for the price. I will give them that. But half of the wooden railings are rotten with 20 layers of paint. The stairs and railing are rusted with another 20 layers of paint. One day, some kid is going to fall through the crumbling steel railing on their balcony and die. Maybe then there will be a change in management. The sliding glass doors have no insulation. During the winter/summer there is a 20 degree temperature difference between your living room and bedroom. Your electric bills are sickening during the summer.

Maintenance
I actually feel sorry for them. They must have a workload list a mile long. But they are slow and their workmanship is pathetic. They Macgyver rig everything, but in the end they have to do 5 times the amount of work it would have taken if they did it right in the first place. Most have no idea how to do their job and do not speak english. I think their tool boxes only consist of rubber bands, paper clips and duct tape. If you can fix it yourself, do it. If it is electrical or HVAC related, let them do it.

Staff
Its always the new people who are nice. There is always someone different each time i pay my rent. They are generally rude, and have a "how dare you attitude" toward any complaint.(Its not my fault you hate your job). The manager and other staff members come on here and write fake positive reviews. If you look at past reviews the manager even gets in arguments with tenants and retaliates against those who post negatively and still live here. That is why i am posting anonymously to avoid it. I am also tired of getting auto e-mails seeing positive reviews that are complete b.s.. At least be honest about the parking. Anyone who visits here will see how it really is.

Overall
Its cheap. And the general rule of thumb is, you get what you pay for. If you can do the majority of maintenance yourself, avoid the office, and have a high tolerance for everything i listed, live here. I am sure someone will post a comment that everything i say is b.s..If you are thinking of of becoming a potential tenant, come here someday during the weekend at 8pm.. Walk around the complex. You will see everything i listed is the truth. What do i have to gain by writing a negative review' Then look at what someone who makes money off this place has to gain for bringing up the rating. You will see what is really going on here.

I've lived at International Residence for about four years and what you say is about 80% exageration. However, I will agree the Manager is a total thoughtless, rude Vulcher with little consideration for any of her residents ... maybe one day she'll ride out on the same broom that got her there.

I've lived at International for going on 8 yrs. and every single thing that was listed above is true and very accurate. I haven't seen any shootings, but have heard domestic arguments (called the police on one couple). But again, single complaint listed above is exactly what it's like to live at International. It started going wayyyyy down hill just about 4-5 yrs. ago.

The cops are CONSTANTLY outside of these apartments! So I think you're pretty accurate.

I've lived there, back in 2003-2005. Everything is accurate, especially the parking. I can't believe their charging for reserved when its already hard to find parking as is in that place. I do have to say...the front apartments, near the canal have a bad roach/water bug (w/ wings) infestation. They are literally everywhere, I feel bad for those who live in the buildings near there because I stayed w/ a friend who had one right near it and suffered from it. But the apartment we had was further in the back and I never had that problem.
