...it's not that bad here. I started off as a subletter, and I checked out this website first, not being very familiar with Austin to begin with. I read bad things, but it was the easiest way for me to move here, and I took a chance. When our term was over, we re-signed. I considered moving, but for the price and square footage, you can't find a better deal.
I haven't encountered half the problems that I've read about here, and nothing more than can be expected from normal multi-family environments. I like the floorplans, the price, the location, the neigborhood, the residents, even the mailman. I've seen cops before, but I've never personally felt like my safety has ever been compromised.
Parking is a problem, I completely agree. Everyone has bought up the reserved spots, so there's rarely ever room in front of your own home, and if you get home after seven, you'll have a long walk to forward to. The management is another issue, of course. Rude, obnoxious, sometimes unyielding, but I deal with them as little as possible, and it's worked out so far.
Other than that, I like living here, and I would definitely recommend it to someone else. I have before.
