You get what you pay for

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2005
My roommate and I used to live here. It was cheap, we were young. After a couple of months, the ceiling in my roommate's bedroom started leaking. We called them and a couple of days later they came to "fix" it. All they did was patch the ceiling so the next time it rained, it leaked again. They came again and ripped out a huge hole in the ceiling and then left it like that. And, it was wintertime so it was cold in her room. We called them every single day for about a month and sent a letter over before the manager flat out told my roommate, "We are not going to fix it". The day she said that, I called the tenant council. That afternoon, the manager called and told us to come down and pick out another apartment and they would pay moving costs. We chose an apartment on the "good" side of the property. There are two sides to this property. The 9815 Copper Creek side, and the 12707 Pond Woods side. We moved over to the Pond Woods side. One evening we heard gunshots out in the parking lot. The police were trying to stop a drug dealer from fleeing. It was so close to our apartment, our cars were in the police line they had set up. Parking was so horrible that when my mother came to visit, she had to park in the street. Someone busted out one of her windows. Parking is a complete nightmare. I wouldn't say this is a bad place to live, per se, but low prices will attract less than desirable people. Also, make sure you take pictures before you move in and after you move out. This is a good idea for any place you're renting. When we moved, we cleaned (like you're supposed to) and we still got charged for silly things. I don't think they even walked through the apartment before they sent the itemized report. We tried contacting management repeatedly-they avoided us. When I went in the office, I was treated badly. And, they'll raise your rent every renewal. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for.
