Dear Lord, don't even think about it!

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
Parking:
To say it's limited would be the understatement of the millennium. They offer "Reserved" spaces at $25 a pop, but they're not even covered. My husband had to park in the street due to lack of spaces within the complex. He came out to his truck one morning to go to work and found that someone had pulled a HIT & RUN on him. UNBELIEVABLE!
Noise:
The walls are paper-thin & you can hear EVERYTHING going on at your neighbors'. Cars frequently drive by, blaring their music. Kids run around screaming, unsupervised after they get home from school. I called the cops once, because I was driving out of the complex with my son & saw a CAR DRIVING WITH A MAN HANGING ONTO THE HOOD, yelling at the woman behind the wheel. They carried their domestic dispute all the way to the frontage road, where she stopped and put on her hazards in the middle of the busy road. This next one doesn't pertain to the noise so much as to give you an idea of what your potential neighbors might be like. Of my close neighbors, the guy downstairs never wears a shirt when outside & openly abuses his dog. Next to me, one unit has dark shower liners over their windows and door, even though it's prohibited, and the other unit openly dumpster dives at our complex, bragging that there's "...some good stuff in there towards the end of the month..."
Grounds:
THERE IS MAJOR FLOODING when it rains. I'm not talking about your shoes getting a little wet in the parking lot. THE RUSHING WATERS COME ABOVE YOUR ANKLES! There is a drainage area , but the slits in the wall allowing water to flow into it is always clogged, making the flooding worse. The nicer landscaping is at the front of the complex to attract new victims, er tenants. They use cheap shrubbery throughout the rest of the place.
Safety:
Outdoor lighting is almost non-existent in certain parts of the complex. The light outside of our apartment goes out frequently & took about a week each time to be replaced. The PARKING LOT IS NOT WELL LIT AT ALL on our side. Women are easy targets walking to & from their cars after dark. There's a "Security Guard" who rolls around on a golf cart after dark, but he doesn't even have the ability to stop homeless people from going through the dumpster & throwing trash everywhere in the parking lot. A lot of the landscaping is a great spot for people to hide in at night if they wanted to cause you harm. As far as one reviewer's comments on SEX OFFENDERS living in the complex. That may have been true at one point in time, but the registry site shows them living on the next street, Hymeadow Drive, not actually in the complex... not that that's any better...
Construction:
Fixtures appear to be the originals & the paint job from the interior to the exterior was a joke. When we moved in we saw paint splotches all over the carpet.
Maintenance:
Our air conditioner went out within the first month of us living there. In the middle of summer, they told us it would be at least 3-4 business days until they'd get a replacement. I asked them if they could get one from a vacant apartment & was denied. Then I told them 3-4 days would be unacceptable as it was too hot to even sleep at night. That's when they finally offered to drop off a portable AC unit & some duct tape. Another incident that happened was when we had a bad storm come & knock out the power. My husband called the maintenance people & was told it'd be a few hours before they could come out & reset the breaker. He finally just went out & did it himself.
Staff:
I could write a book on them. ------ is the only nice & sincere one, but the girl refuses to wear a ---------- & it's always --------the office. She comes to work in her workout attire often. I have walked in the office many times to see the rest of the staff fooling around, loudly having their own conversations, about inappropriate topics for everyone to hear. They have MISPLACED MY MAIL TWICE & when I started to voice my displeasure on the first incident, the guy I was on the phone with, began to berate me for allowing them to sign for packages in my place. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'!' INSTEAD OF LOOKING FOR MY PACKAGE HE WAS LECTURING ME ON INITIALING IN THE SPACE ON MY LEASE CONTRACT FOR THEM TO SIGN FOR PACKAGES IN MY NAME & HOW IN DOING SO, THEY WEREN'T LIABLE FOR MISSING PACKAGES! They eventually found them BOTH TIMES after I made them check over & over again. Apparently being able to read isn't a prerequisite to working there. We have had numerous notices put on our doors about staff coming in for various projects with a date time frame. My husband doesn't feel comfortable having people in the place when he's not there, so he tries to be home then. They hardly ever come when they say they will, thus coming whenever no one is home.
Overall:
One thing that really peeves me about the apartment complex is that they're trying to profit off of the whole "Green" movement, advertising that they're a "Green" place to live and blah blah blah. You can easily see light through your front door, which by the way is mainly single pane glass. They water the property every night for long periods of time, to where you have excess water running down the sidewalks into the parking lot. They came into our units to put in low watt bulbs. My husband had already installed low energy ones to save on our electricity bill. Again, since they came in outside of the time frame they had given, no one was home. The bulbs they replaced ours with used more electricity! What a laugh! We should have listened to the apartment locators who tried to steer us away from this place. You get great square footage for the price, but at a huge cost in the end. If this review deters even one person from making the same mistake we did, then it was worth it. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
