Nice Place to Live - But Pricey

For Austin, these apartments are expensive. For South Austin, they?re right in the price range. If you really want to pay for what you get, I suggest moving to North Austin. But the location of these apartments is nice, fairly central and close to downtown.
I have lived here for 2 years and I have few complaints. The property is well maintained - they have a cleaning crew who do the rounds most mornings. Of course, a few college kids have managed to gain residency and leave beer cans and trash out, but it is usually gone within a day or so.
Parking is also fine. You may not get a spot right in front of your building, but you also won?t have to walk a mile once you park. Besides, covered parking is only $20 extra - so you might as well have a reserved spot.
The apartments themselves are beautiful. A refreshing white interior with light cream carpet and white crown molding. The built-in entertainment unit on the first floor apartments is also very nice and elegant. I have the largest one bedroom, so my kitchen is open on both sides - which really opens up the area. It is definitely not the traditional apartment kitchen size. Speaking of size, the laundry room is out of this world! It?s the whole reason I chose to move into Falcon Ridge. It fits a full size washer and dryer with much room to spare. My friends and I joke that the room could actually serve as a guest bedroom w/o the washer and dryer in it. I love it. My bathroom also has a large garden tub and ample counter space.
My only complaint about these apartments is the trash compactor. THERE IS ONLY ONE FOR BOTH SIDES OF THE COMPLEX! It fills up very quickly and it?s annoying to me. You can try to leave your trash on the outside of the compactor, but be mindful. The office actually has someone go through your garbage to find something with your name on it and then they put a bill for like $25 on your door. The same fine goes for putting trash into the dumpsters reserved for cardboard. I think this absurd because if they don?t make accommodations for your trash, what are you supposed to do with it' The compactor is also on the outside of the gates, so you usually have to drive your trash there on your way out somewhere. Once I put all my trash into my car, there is no way I?m going to take it back into my apartment because the compactor is full! Be aware of this problem when you look into Falcon Ridge.
However, other than that, these apartments are a smart decision for someone looking to move into South Austin. The location is also beefing up with 2 large movie theaters, tons of new restaurants close by and a new shopping plaza with a grocery store.
If I didn?t have to, I would never move.
