staff was nice, but the digital thermostats are terrible...they shut off the AC on the hottest days of summer for long periods of time. also, during a re-painting period the grounds were littered with caulk tubes and whatnot and one evening after work 2 days after they were supposed to be done working on my unit, i looked out my porch door and there were two workers there (i lived on the second floor)
a major upside is the childrens' play area, i think. i'm single with no kids, but since leaving jefforson i've lived at apts without these areas and the kids just end up in the parking lot trying to get hit...
parking was never a problem and it seemed safe to me. rent was high, but par for the area.
(the no recomendation is based mostly on the AC issue...made it entirely unlivable)

LOL. Are you aware that digital thermostats require programming? The purpose of the thermostat is to save YOU money (i.e. automatically turn off the unit Monday thru Friday from 9am to 4pm while you are at work) BUT you have to program it yourself. Your stupidity is the reason for a NO rating! Ive lived here for a year. I am extremely happy and will continue to re-sign my lease when it comes up again. and WOW.....while the apartments were being repainted, a construction worker left caulk tubes and other stuff on the ground. LOL...have you ever been to a construction site??? About Rent....it is affordable and a great value for living in the Arboretum (cheaper than almost every other property in the area).

i did program my thermostat. my complaint was with a program that jefferson volunteered for...an energy saving program that bypassed renters' rights by minimizing energy consumption during peak usage. this was a problem due to my personal illnesses. and also, yes, i have been to numerous construction sites...that's my job, acctually. but i paid rent to live in an apartment complex, not a construction zone...
finally, i hope i didn't make a big deal about rent being high...it's high all over austin and not a problem of this particular complex...
(i will note, though, that i'm paying under $800/month for a 1300 sqft apt in atlanta, ga....better town, better rent better everything...but if i were still in austin i'd be living in a private rental or this complex...hard to find better for the average renter...

When we came to look at these apartments we were told that we we be getting new hard wood floors and all new appliances but we were lied to by the leasing lady unknowlingly so we moved in a month later and there was nothing of what she promised, vinyl look alike floors are not hard wood floors and there was no new appliances except for in the show apartments they fooled us.
