overrated

The price is ok and it's close to the UT shuttle. The area is nice. It's well maintained and the staff is friendly for the most part. The problem is that Juniper Springs LOOKS nice and it's not necessarily the best place to live. It has nice finish, but once you get down to the details it's not so great. Everything is older, the paint discolors easily, and everything breaks down easily. There were paint splatters everywhere and it was obvious they just did a hasty job making the apartment ready. All of our ceiling fans shake like crazy when they're turned on too high and make a lot of noise. Within one week of moving into my new apartment, three of the kitchen drawers broke, the bottom completely fell out of one of the drawers, the sink clogged up to the point that it was unusable and overflowed, my bathtub quit draining, and my toilet wouldn't flush. To make things worse, occasionally my sink, bathtub, and toilet likes to do what me and my roommate call "throw up". In other words, all the dirty water comes right back up. The maintenance staff worked on it immediately the first two times, but the third time we complained about it, they just never showed up. As a UT student, I've seen my fair share of crappy places from the dorms to west and north campus to riverside, but at least I could take a shower and use my own toilet. So far, I hate this apartment and I really, really wish I had never moved here.

Update:
My bathtub, sink, and toilet backed up again. This time I had sewage (aka feces or whatever you want to call it) in my bathtub, toilet and floor. My towels, shelves, curling iron, blow dryer, shower curtains, and hair products were ruined. The water went all the way to my hallway closet but luckily nothing was on the floor in there. It was absolutely disgusting. And even after they fixed everything, my sink still leaks and our garbage disposal throws up food (some of it isn't even ours) anytime we use the dishwasher. I would post photos but my camera died before I could get the picture of a tub full of crap...
