For the location it's a great place to be, I also like the fact that there are only 3 floors to each building giving it a laid back, visit your neighbor type of feeling to it. Discovered though that there is an odd mix of young college kids versus the elderly (used to be a retirement home I think). Not that this is necessarilly bad but it does mean some compromise in socialbility/noise level.
The apts. are nice, but no washer dryer in them, instead located down the hall. The pools are cool, about 3 of them on the grounds. I have lived here over a year and felt very safe (even forgot to lock my door a couple of times) however, I did have my car broken into in the parking lot - that was last year and since then, I don't know of any incidences.
It is also as I said centrally located, enabling you to get to town lake without traffic in 10 minutes, with traffic 20-25. Nicely located near two major HEB shopping centers, Blockbuster and lots of great Mexican restaurants. Also neighborhood surrounding it is very nice to walk around in.
Haven't had trouble with management, except don't like that you can't renew for month to month lease unless you want your rent to go up...but apparently this is true for almost every apartment in Austin. Also nice to have the option of wooden floors - they gave me that for extra of course but I would take that over rugs.
Overall, I love the location and have have felt pretty comfortable there.
