I moved to Austin and needed to find an apartment quickly. I used an apartment locating service (who work closely the with the property managers FYI) and this was the place they showed me. They show you a model unit when you inquire about the property which is located right off the main office. You are very carefully steered clear of seeing the actual property and the tennants. I signed a year lease (kicking myself when there is a 6 month available!) and have only spent @5 nights there since.

When I moved my things in I realized that the complex is frightening. While the apartment itself is fine for the money, it is an extremely ghetto area. My neighbor sold drugs out of his apartment (I know because he offered me some) and had a parade of nasty people going in and out of his place. I would have complained, but was scared that it would be obvious that I reported it (because I was new and didn't really fit in among the other tenants). Even if undesirable people are evicted, there are no working gates to keep the parking lot secure (which I was told were going to be repaired "soon").

Beyond the drug dealer there are homeless people and prostitutes wandering the parking lot. My job brought me home late at night and I was routinely scared to walk from my car to my apartment.

The laundry room is located in the alley behind the apartments and never had a working lightbulb. The 2 time I tried to use it, I actually brought my own bulb to screw into the fixture while using it.

I was accosted for money or cigarettes in the parking lot frequently and had many random knocks at my door asking for money.

Just beware, the neighborhood doesn't seem so bad during the day, but it is completely crazy at night. Look elsewhere!!!!
