This apartment complex is a disaster. There is a grand total of 8 washing machines and 8 dryers on the property. Unless you plan to do laundry at the crack of dawn on a weekday, you are going to have to go elsewhere. The business center is never available and I have personally witnessed a knock-down, drag-out fight there. Just last night someone vandalized this business center, breaking chairs and spraying the fire extinguisher all over the room. When it is actually available for use, it is filled with young children and adolescents checking their Myspace pages. There are four computers and I don't believe I have ever been witness to all of them working at the same time. The "fitness" center consists of about 5 machines. About a week after I moved in the only 2 free weights they had were stolen. So unless you want to run on a treadmill in a room the size of some people's closets, I would not reccomend it. The "tanning facility" is located directly off of the business center. YOu have to walk thru the business center into a closet which reeks of urine to tan. Two of the apartment staff are friendly and helpfull. The others are not. I have had several problems with faulty plumbing, lack of insulation, bugs, wiring, etc. All amenities are ABSOLUTELY INADEQUATE. I would not reccomend this place to ANYONE, ESPECIALLY STUDENTS & BUSINESS PEOPLE. The rent has been raised twice during the six months I have lived here. Because I have a signed lease it does not affect me and I definatly wont be re-signing when my YEAR lease is up. The price keeps getting higher and the facitity has not made ONE improvement. The day I moved in a young woman asked me if I had just moved and and after I told her yes she said that I was going to hate living here. And she was right. Landry Place Apartments are terrible. DO NOT MOVE HERE unless you enjoy never being able to use the already inadequate ammenities and don't mind living amidst crime and criminals.

I'm sure this reviewer is truly telling about their experience. However, I have had a much better experience. I have found all of the office staff to be perfectly nice. Some are super-friendly, others more reserved, but I have never left the office feeling anything but pleased with how things are handled. I have had one broken pipe which was fixed quickly and adequately. I don't know what indicates a lack of insulation according to this reviewer, but my apartment is always a great temperature, easily controlled by the thermostat and I never feel a draft. No bug problems. I've seen two bugs in my apt. When I do, I let the office know and they have an exterminator come to the complex every Wednesday. Very satisfied with that aspect. I haven't found the walls to be especially thin. Granted, the complex is noisy but that's just due to other tenants. No wall insulation is going to prevent that. My rent actually ended up being lower than I expected. I signed a lease for $525/month. I thought that was a good deal. When I started dealing with bills, it turns out that included cable and internet! As for some other amenities, I think my standards may just be more reasonable than this reviewer. Yeah, they have a small fitness center. It's a little room with a stationary bike, 2 treadmills, stairstepper thing, and an elliptical machine. It does have a TV and is air conditioned. I don't know what else could be expected. It's an apartment complex; they never said they have an on-site gym! I have rarely tried to use the business center since I have my computer and printer in my apt. However, when I was in there, I must agree that all 4 computers were never all working. I don't know what Landry Place could do about the adolescents checking their MySpace. And... I never thought it smelled like urine. Can't speak for the laundry issue. Never tried on site facilities. If you are going to have a computer in your apt, the internet is fast and I've never had interrupted service, so the business center deficiencies shouldn't be a problem. Safety... what can I say? It's Riverside. Landry Place handles it pretty well I'd say, but there's only so much they can do. I would definitely recommend to students and business people (like I said, if you have a computer and printer in your apt, it's great).
