Hell Hole: DON'T LET THEM HARASS YOU INTO A PRE-LEASE.

I have a feeling that most students new to looking for apartments are the majority of the Lantana tenants. I know I was, and I have learned so much and know better now.
Disregarding the ominous pit that was dug next to the apartments to make way for a giant condo, Lantana is a hell hole. Trash litters the property and garbage spills out of the two dumpsters. I had two of my bikes stolen (someone came and cut through the locks and everything!) The apartment I was in got virtually no natural sunlight, which will soon be exacerbated by the tower they will be building next door. There are a total of maybe four lights in the entire place. Construction next door starts at 7AM and can last the entire day, which can be pretty distracting when school is in session. The apartments get water in them every time it rains, and my AC smelled like mildew. Mold was everywhere! The maintenance man is very nice and genuinely helpful, but is at the hands of the manipulative and rude apartment management staff at the front office. The office, which is supposed to be open from 8-5:30, has a 50% chance of being locked up and without employees most of the time, and on top of that, my phone calls are never returned. These apartments are generally outdated, dirty, and overpriced. I signed a lease for a fantastic apartment closer to UT that is 30% larger and is the same price. Hell, across the street there is an apartment that IS THE SAME price and millions of times cleaner and friendlier. YOU CAN DO BETTER! DON'T LET THEM HARASS YOU INTO A PRE-LEASE... you'll regret it! I can't wait to get out of this pig-sty.... what a nightmare.

Thanks for the review, I appreciate the information. After reading this though, do you mind stating the name of the place that is "closer to UT and 30% larger" and the one "across the street...and millions of times cleaner and friendlier"? It would help me out a lot in my own search. Thanks!
