In the year that I luved at Laurel Woods I had men follow me up to my apartment door when I got home from work. I had a man standing outside of my bedroom window in the middle of the night. One of our neighbors turned up missing and no one ever foud her. And the whole time the staff was very unhelpful. I was actually told " what do you want us to do about it'" I don't know, post a letter to let people know what's going on!! After I moved out, the screen door was taken off and the sliding door was left open for a couple of days. One month later I got a letter saying that I owed several hundred dollars for messed up carpet and walls. The apartment was not messed up or dirty when I left. Laurel Woods is the most poorly managed and dumpy place I have ever lived. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have to live there!!!

This is so unfortunate that a previous resident that leaves an apartment in need of cleaning and carpet replacement or repair would use this forum as a way to make up stories about feeling unsafe. How vindictive and sad.

I am a tenant living here for almost one year and can attest to the fact that this "rating" is so untrue. I wrote a summary on 9/10/2005 (You're family here). I just updated it and request that you read it before jumping to any conclusions about this marvelous apartment complex! Please do not let a disgruntled former tenant turn you away. Laurel Woods is awesome!

Though I can't confirm or deny the above tenant's story, I have to say I find it hard to believe. When I lived there, I had a neighbor who would not leave me alone. The office staff was very supportive and helpful despite the fact that there was little they could have done. The notion that the office staff should have done something about a missing person is ridiculous. That's what the police are for. This complex is in a nice, quiet area, and is as safe as you could expect it to be. You can have bad neighbors anywhere.

READERS: please be sure to read ALL reviews when favoring a specific complex, as management WILL write in their own reviews (friends with apartment management experience have confirmed this). they have quotas to fill. Please be sure to do your research thoroughly!! Do not take these reviews lightly!! Keep on the lookout for repeat complaints (complaints on the same issue from various tenants). While apartment living is a challenge for most, great management can make it somewhat bearable. unfortunately, good management is rare. Poor management is a reflection of poor ownership- these companies are not screening candidates as they should be, thus we the tenants must suffer due to their lack of experience and/or training. Also, if tenants would do more research and homework on what their rights are, management would most definitely humble themselves. future tenants- please take these reviews to heart!!!! these posts are not reflections of a one time bad experience; chances are, if a past/current tenant is taking the time to write a review on a place, it's to help you out, so read these, take them to heart, and get to know your rights as a tenant!!!!!
