Great For XL Dog Owners

I moved into Laurel Woods in March of 2005 solely because they not only allow XL dogs, they encourage them. I have a 120 lb. dog (and a cat). There are plenty of green areas and they even have a non-fenced leash-free area in the rear of the complex. I love my floorplan, as well. It is rented as a 1 bedroom study, but my "study" has a full size bed, computer desk, and full size bookshelf. The balcony is larger than most. Unfortunately, I do not make use of it because the noise of the 183 traffic and brake repair place is overwhelming once you open the door or window. I expected the noise levels indoors to be bad, but it is amazing how well insulated the apartment walls are. The windows and doors are the only weak spots. I have had maintenance out a few times and the issues have always been resolved. The management has worked with me any time I have required their assistance. I have had a book of CD's stolen out of my truck, but my door was unlocked. There were quite a few water shut-offs for maintenance my first year, but since the main has been replaced, there have been no issues. Also, when lightening knocks out power in the businesses and other apartment complexes nearby, ours is almost always still on. It's a very quiet complex with several residents that have lived there 10-15 years. I have lived in several apartment complexes throughout Austin and this one has been my best experience.
