It has been several years since I have lived here. I am an Apt Locator now and feel I should let you know that upon moving in to Laurel Woods Apts, Our money order for the 1st months rent was stolen and cashed by the person I handed it to. ( I will not say names) After receiving a notice to vacate for non-payment, was forced to pay the rent a second time and begin the time consuming process of tracking down where and when our money orders were cashed. The entire time management treated us like deadbeats, and put no effort what so ever in to the investigation. (because it was one of them) Not only do they allow criminals to move into the apts., they employ them in the office. Once police reports were filed, we were treated poorly, and no apologies or reconciliation were made. After speaking with others, came to find out we were not the only victims of this scam. BOTTOM LINE: MGMT WILL STEAL YOUR RENT, FORCE YOU TO PAY IT TWICE, AND EVICT YOU FOR NON PAYMENT IF YOU DONT. (even though you already paid it) Unless you have plenty of time and money to deal with this, I do not recommend moving into this community.

Thank you for the possitive words Azhchay, as far as the other review goes. I really don't know what else I can say except for the fact that Faye and I did not work together, I actually replaced Faye after our company bought Laurel Woods so again, sorry you had a bad experience, why you would bring this up now is beyond me when obviously there was a differenct staff. Plus Faye and her manager left Laurel Woods in 2004 so to anyone looking for an apartment, please do not let this deter you. " You must have 'forgotten' about my situation then. It was at 8312 Fathom Circle, Austin Tx, 78750. Even though it was not 'Alison" that stole my money, you and 'Faye' were both completely aware of the situation. We have already "Discussed" this matter, no need to call. (When the MGMT is involved, you would only expect a response Denying everything. No response at all would have said more.) "Bottom Line... My Money was stolen from employees in the Office. I have police records to show it, as well as the experience of having to deal with it. No one was willing to do anything about it except blame it on us until we proved it otherwise. Would you expect the staff to step up and admit they did it? If my money wasn't stolen the place would have been great. Cops were there occasionally but you see that everywhere. (Way to kiss up to the management Azhchay, they ask you to post this review? Moved off to Georgia but still check the ratings on your old Apt. in Texas? gimme a break) or is that you again Alison? This is the same type of behavior I received when dealing with this situation. (We don't know what your talking about! Now pay your rent!, again!) I am not trying to deter people from moving here, just informing them about an usual, difficult situation that myself and former tenants have had to deal with. Call me a Liar, or a fake, or even a dead-beat. This wont be the first time.

It's a catch 22 no matter what we do. If someone posts a good response, then they're kissing up, or they're management. If no response, then obviously you're right. If you're wondering why I checked, it's because I get an email every time a new review is posted about Laurel Woods, because I've posted one as well. Not something I've signed up to do, just something Apartment Ratings does. As I enjoyed my time there immensely, when I get that email, I look to see what has been said. I disagree with your review, and honestly, think you're completely full of crap. You state that you lived there from 2006-2007, but I was also there during that time, and never once encountered a Faye in the office. Allison has even said that Faye was let go in 2004, so your dates aren't even lining up. Seriously, you're coming off as a troll in this. A review that is completely against what most people have said, immediately defensive when anyone contradicts you, accusing people of sucking up or being management again, dates that completely don't line up, and you didn't even remember the address of the complex WHEN IT'S RIGHT THERE ON THE PAGE. I'm just sad that a troll like you is bringing down a great complex's rating.
