NOT SAFE! Keep looking!

When I first moved in I really loved it because it was totally cute and affordable for the area, but there were some things that management didn t bother disclosing before I signed my lease. They were all smiles and kisses up until I started having problems. If I had only known what I know now, there is NO way that I would have moved in! Management won t comment on the neighborhood crime or anything, they just tell you that its supposedly safe.

1. There is always some shady people shouting or stinky homeless mental people cutting through the complex which creeps me out at night. My neighbors said that we are in close proximity to the Mental Health and Mental Retardation next door. Not that there s anything wrong with living next door but they like to steal things so that they can pawn. Numerous bikes have been stolen and apartments have been broken into.

2. I went to check my laundry & noticed that my panties were missing & that freaked me OUT! To make matters worse, I went to throw my trash in the dumpster & caught a homeless guy openly defecating. I was utterly disgusted!!!

3. The main reason I left was because my apartment got broken into and come find out that this isn't a new thing for this complex. I came home to see the plastic on my front window hanging. I saw that my front door had been pushed in & left open. I totally freaked out and called the police to investigate the scene. My neighbors were alarmed and informed me that police had come out a couple of weeks ago because some tenants had been held at gun point. The police officer who came told me that the area had been experiencing an increase in assaults, drugs users and theft. My other neighbors said that management does NOTHING as far as security and tell tenants to lock all their belongings and to get renters insurance. I talked to management and they told me that they were gonna try to increase the lighting on the exterior or the property. But all I see is management spending money or landscaping, water sprinklers and buying palm trees! OMG, I was furious! Why cant they can t spend money on a security officer or cameras' Instead they re spending money on aesthetics, this is an outrage! Talk about a lack of priorities! Apartments are being broken into, tenants are being held up at gun point, cars are being vandalized and management s suggestion is to get renters insurance. OMG. What a bunch of idiots. I contacted my dad and we demanded to get to get out of the lease and thankfully we've moved on to somewhere way better with 24hr security. DON'T be fooled by the cheap rent because it's a cheap facade that will end up costing you dearly.

I think it was unfair that they didn't disclose that the complex had a HIGH CRIME RATE. The old landloard doesn't care enough about his tenants since he's more concerned about me making sure there are cute flowers and palm trees out front.
