RATS AND LEAKY CEILINGS

I've lived in 4 different complexes all over austin and this one was, by far, the worst. After two years, they still didn't know me when I walked into the office. I put in maintenance requests that were never filled. We had rats for 4 months IN OUR APARTMENT while the office did next to nothing about the problem, except set traps that caught DEAD RATS that we were supposed to dispose of ourselves. we received no rent compensation or anything for this problem, and they only discussed it behind closed doors and lied to us about how big of a problem it was - i didn't know until i spoke to several neighbors that the whole building was infested. i moved to the other side of the complex and came home from vacation to a ceiling that was literally dripping onto my bed. it took them a full week to cut a 6 foot whole in my ceiling and fix it while i had to stay elsewhere - again with no compensation. the office people are rude and only nice when you first move in - then they don't care about you. they supposedly posted notices on my door (meaning they scotch taped a piece of paper) about extending my lease if i didn't inform them 60 days before i wanted to move out. i never got the notice, they didn't believe me, and stuck me in my lease. I HATE THIS COMPLEX. don't ever live here.

You sound very bitter. You know its funny, I've lived here for only a few months and it has been great so far. When I toured the place I asked a fair amount of people out and about on how they like the place. Not one person said anything bad except for the management being sticklers for late rent. I have lived in about 7 or 8 different complexes, this is probably tied with the best of them. Regardless of the 60 days notice, I do remember seeing that you must terminate two months early. I remember the leasing agent say the same thing. You must not have a good memory. As far rats, I highly doubt it. I haven't seen any wasp nests, ants or any mounds in the grass (which is common this time of season in texas). Your comment seems more like a rant. Next time try to be a bit more useful on this site.

This is a response to the comment posted 8/4. I live here now, and completely agree with everything said. I reported a HUGE red wasp nest that was in my entryway right above my door and was told that pest control would take care of it next month!!! The management here is unhelpful and it is true that they do not seek to know their tenants. I have lived here for almost a year and they still do not know my name or apartment number. The management taht was here when we moved in knew who we were from day one (the tour). Truthfully, with your positive reinforcement of this complex, I can only conclude that you are paid to get on this site and refute what the people who actually lived here say. I cannot see how you could have lived in the same place we did.

Well I am a different person that has lived here for about 4 months and I highly doubt there are rats here. The place is not run down to the slightest, though it is a bit old. In fact they were taking care of a kitty outside by the pool for a while. The cat was in good condition.... and living under the deck. I study for my business classes outside and actually have talked to 3 or 4 families and they have said the same thing - the place is great. Its funny how the people that are dogging this place use the same vocabulary. Pay your rent dude and get a life.

You can highly doubt there are rats, but I had rats in my apartment at Le Montreaux. Not one, not two...we caught at least 5 and had many many more. It took us three weeks to figure out alternative living, and within that time over a dozen holes had been eaten in our walls (huge holes, the size of shoe boxes).
You can highly doubt it...but it's true.
