In response to the person who thinks I am an employee of Legacy, sorry to disappoint but I am not. If you'd like, I can show you my lease contract and have you talk to my boyfriend in case you really want proof. That being said, did you actually read through my entire review' Even though my list of pros is long, the single con (i.e., problems with noise and bad construction) almost outweighs all the pros and was the major impetus in us moving. That being said...

My boyfriend and I lived at Legacy at Western Oaks for a little over a year. We got a great rate since we signed a 13-month lease. The office people were very courteous and helpful when we came in to look at different units. The question was: would they stay courteous and helpful after our move-in, or like so many other apartment places, would they suddenly turn into a leaser's worst nightmare' The last place we moved from was horrible, an extremely unprofessional place, so we were a bit wary about Legacy. Fortunately for us, we got lucky and didn't have experiences with an apartment that shifted focus after the lease was signed. The staff remained courteous and helpful throughout the term of our lease, and that was truly and absolutely refreshing.

PROS:
1) Very clean grounds
2) Beautiful grassy lawns
3) Lots of pet pickup stations, which helped encourage keeping the place as poop-free as possible
4) Fenced-in play area for your pets to run around in
5) Beautiful apartment interior; we got the more expensive interior floorplan, which was only $20 more a month; nice white ceramic sink, stone tiles in the entrance, bathrooms and kitchen; berber carpet; big fancy columns at the entrance; lots of storage space (we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit); garden sized tubs; large windows throughout; well-thought out floorplan (great feng shui); generous-sized rooms
6) Trash pickup twice a week at the base of the stairs
7) Very nice gym: roomy, TVs at treadmill and bike stations, towels
8) Lots of parking spaces
9) Well-lit
10) Freebies for breakfast (juice, coffee, danishes, bagels, etc)
11) The staff and management. At the time we were there, the manager was a woman named Christine and she was very good to work with when we had problems with our downstairs neighbors. The staff was always courteous, and I can't recall a time when someone was rude to us ever. Also, when we had to extend our lease by an extra day so we could move into the new house, the staff was nice enough to let us do so on such short notice.
12) Low number of maintenance issues. At the moment the only major requests I can think of that we had were to get rid of the wasps' nests over our balcony and the sink leaking once. The quality of the components used in the apartment pays off, unlike the last place we were at, where they used subpar quality components, which led to frequent maintenance requests.
13) When we had already moved out and got billed twice for a water bill, after I wrote them a letter with proof that we had already paid that bill, someone from the office called me at work to apologize for the double billing and that a check would be cut out and sent within the next few weeks. She was extremely apologetic for the mistake and I was grateful that they were so professional about it. We got our check this weekend in the mail. They were good to their word.
14) We were offered a good rate upon move-out. I think it helps that we were good tenants, since we always paid our rent on time and didn't make insane numbers of complaints and unnecessary maintenance requests.

CONS:
1) The only con is that the place is not built to condo specs. This is not the fault of the management or staff; this is the fault of whoever owns the property and decided not to build to condo specs. We had a 2nd floor unit, and unfortunately for us we could hear the downstairs neighbors with their powerful home theater system, and we could hear the upstairs neighbor stomp, especially at 2 am. The downstairs neighbors could hear us walk around and eventually complained, but we fired back our own complaints about them cranking up their home theater system to the levels you hear at Best Buy. But like I said earlier, it is no one's fault except the company's that owns the property, since they didn't go with condo-specs for the apartments. You could also hear loud people coming back from going out at night at 3 and 4 am, when they came stomping up the back stairs and yelling and whooping at their friends.

SUMMARY:
---This place would have been perfect if it had been built to condo specs. The 2 major reasons why we moved were because we didn't want to deal with the loud downstairs and upstairs neighbors anymore, and because we got tired of the horrible commute all the way up Mopac to work (you have not only the regular horrible Mopac traffic to contend with, but also the backup from Davis Ln all the way up to the William Cannon light).

I do recommend this place, but try to get either a 2-floor unit so you don't have to worry about neighbors above or below you (these are expensive, though, but you get a 1-car garage), or get the 3rd floor unit, so you don't have to worry about anyone upstairs, only the people below you.

Was the noise below you REALLY loud, like loud enough to vibrate walls or something? I had a very bad experience with a neighbor once in arizona and he would freak out when i tiptoed around at night *no exageration*(spelling) and from then on i have been paranoid about noise below me. I am getting a third floor here and i worry that the noise will affect my living situation. If you could tell me a little more, please email me at little_black_coffin@yahoo.com. Thanks Erin
