Depends on your needs.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I have lived at Legacy for a while now. I'll start with my move in. When I first moved to Austin, I needed an apartment fast and didn't know the area well. That being said, I was here for 2 days listening to all the 'amenities' speeches at every complex. What I really wanted was to sit down, look at a floor plan, get a price and availability and move on to the next. Sans chatting and frill. This is what I got (w/o asking) at Legacy. Personally, I was relieved to the rudeness of it all because of my lack of time, but I can easily see where it would offend others. I assumed this particular leasing agent was to blame, but soon after my move in I realized it was the entire leasing office (the males in particular) with exception of one extremely kind young lady. She knows me everytime I come in and is always personable. Be prepared however, they are not accomodating and they do not seem to care as much about your well being and happiness as a tenant as they do the commission they get from various tasks.
---The apartment itself is wonderful. I love my floor plan, I did get the upgrade for the tile and porcelin sink. And I especially love having a window above my sink and 2 balconies. I will have to agree with a few of the other tenents though. When I moved in the carpet was not new and I fear I will be charged for it when I move out, so I have taken detailed (and dated) photos at move in and will do so at move out as well. I also love that there is a trash pick up at the bottom of the stairs 2 days a week, but if you have trash on any other day, be prepaired to walk a half mile to one of only two trash bins on property. As far as noise is concerned, I have two things going for me... 1st, I am on the third floor (so I'm probably the one others are complaining about), but the only noise I hear is the music coming from my downstairs neighbors apartment. I don't mind it too much because they only play it loudly during the daytime, and on occasion early evening, plus we have similar taste in music, so I can't complain too much. 2nd, I feel I may be a little more patient in the 'apartment noise level' factor. Considering having a pool view at my last apartment (and constant noise and screams to go along with it) I find that the common apartment noise doesn't bother me as much as some. I find that yes, there are common noises here, but obvious ones... dogs, living by 2 fairly major roadways, and neighbors.
--- Parking is awful. I can't say much more, just that if you don't get home before 4 in the afternoon, you don't get to park within sight of your building. I am young and I like to go out several nights a week and I always end up parking so far away that I have to call someone as I am walking back to my apartment to feel safe walking through the dark pathways between buildings.
--- While I'm here, I'll tell you about the safety. I have not heard of any break-ins or muggings or anything like that, but the so called motion censored lights between buildings are rarely working and I have seen a few suspicious looking men lurking in these locations from time to time. Maybe there is a dog on a leash using the bathroom that I don't see, who knows' Oh, and the gates never work, but I have never lived in a complex where they did so...'
--- I love the location. I do not have the conventional 9-5, but I have never had a hard time getting anywhere except around 4-5pm which is normal in Austin no matter where you live. I am within 10 minutes (max) of downtown, I have a new and clean HEB with a Central Market w/in walking distance. I also have a drive thru Starbucks, a cleaners, a tanning facility, a Hollywood video and a package place right around the corner. Very convenient location.
--- So, here you have it. I have given you the best and worst. Now you can make an informed decision based on your needs. Good luck.
