I sublet here one summer and it was an alright place. Yes, it is old and comes with the normal kind of problems an old place has. Things did break but mantainence would fix it within a week. The carpet did have stains, there was a leak in the bathroom, etc. But it was cheap and big. Lots of closet space and living space. The kitchen is very small, but if you think of solutions (like using the dining table as prep space) instead of just whine and complain it is not a big deal. My big complaint was noise: It's pretty quiet during the day, but it can get very loud at night. It doesn't get dark at night inside without thick curtains. If people have friends over in the evenings, expect to hear every word said, bottle broken, and music because they hang out on the front porches. Bedrooms are pretty quiet, but don't try to have anyone sleep in the living room. Parking was ok, just avoid the back lot where it is a nice, secluded place for thieves to exploit.
