I don't even know where to start... I guess I'll start with the parking...

Parking:

Sucks in a big way. The parking lot is always full or there might be one spot left. There is no assigned parking so it's a free-for-all in the parking lot. I know of one person that has 3 cars here... seriously THREE cars!!! It's stuff like this that the management just doesn't care about. I can understand the motorcycles but THREE cars is just ridiculous. I can't help but wonder how many other people have multiple cars. Don't plan on having friends over too. There are only two designated "guest" spots but a majority of the time they are occupied by residents. J&J Towing regularly sweeps the lot and picks up any cars without a pass.

Exterior & Utilities:

The pool looks horrible. It seriously looks like you would catch something from swimming in it. When I moved in the pool was bright green . Now the pool is the color it should be but the bottom of it is all scratched up and looks disgusting. The hot water here is on a community heater and it's performance is sporadic at best (and it's brand new). It's not just my apartment either, other people I have talked to have had the same problem. The water (old) water-heater also caught on fire a little before the winter break and we were without hot water for about 5 days!! The place just looks like a dump, plain and simple.

**With all this being said, it isn't trashy outside. The guy that comes to clean the pool and pick up trash does an amazing job and is actually a really cool guy. Admitting he does come at strange hours.

Management and Maintenance:

****RUMOR HAS IT THE MAINTENANCE MAN IS A THIEF****

The management is alright, the lady I usually talk to seems nice enough and always tries to help. It sometimes is hard to get a hold of the management company and don't expect your voicemails to get returned.

I can't attest to the work of the maintenance man because I have never felt safe letting him into my apartment. I was told by FOUR other residents to make sure that I didn't leave an iPod or anything small and expensive laying around when he came because it would be there after he left. So most of the maintenance I've had to do myself: replacing outlet covers, fixing my shower, etc.

My Apartment:

My kitchen counter and cheap ass plastic "tile" all have nicks, scratches, and stains on them so no matter how much you clean it will never look clean. I've also had an ongoing battle with roaches. I've laid bait traps, keep the kitchen spotless, and keep my trash bags tied and all times but if there is one crumb or anything 5 roaches are all over it in 5min.

My bathroom is moldy (so I believe) and falling apart. The floor is coming up in the corner near the shower and the air conditioning/heater is stored above the shower has a wooden door that is rotted and falling down. I have been lead to believe that my recent eye irritation problems could be due to the supposed mold. The floor and counter also have the 'never being able to look clean' problem as the kitchen.

The living room ceiling has it's fair share of dents and dings. All of the blinds are missing the rods that adjust the light, the living room closets are all missing the wooden rods, I had to replace outlet covers myself, and there are scratches all on the walls. The bedroom is alright. However, the bedroom closet has a faint smell of mold.

Summary:

RUN LIKE HELL!!! They are going to be charging $700 a month for this dump!!

Lived here?

I lived here for a year and it was the worst experience of my life. I live in AMLI properties now and am much happier to pay over $1000 for something decent. My bathroom was also moldy and the tub leaked inside my bedroom and ruined my dresser. Maintenance was practically non-existent through this issue and made every excuse about how they took care of it and the leak was plugged but we continued to have mildew growing. The smell was terrible. Your certainly no Einstein if you've ever had any thoughts of going near the pool. The psycho old man with his Wiccan calendar who looks like some sort of pedophile is reason enough to stay away. I never ever thought of going near it-it's probably infested with all kinds of bacteria reproducing. The carpet was dirty upon move-in and we lived with the roaches unless we sprayed every day and they used to hobble up the sides of the efficiency size stove to sneak a peek at dinner. One of my friends paid $130 dollars after her car was towed within 5 minutes of her arrival. It was absolutely terrifying to think that maybe her car had been stolen for a couple of minutes there. We had a really mild winter the year I lived there and there was no heat when we needed it. Then when we needed the AC to actually function, the management had other plans. We had to keep our window open, at least letting out the toxic mildew smell-and it was hot as hell. What a terrible place-the manager is the ultimate slum lord. Living in the slums of Ethiopia has never looked so good.
