Not as bad as everybody makes it out to be...

Yes, a woman was found dead in the pool in September 2007. She was the sister of my co-worker's friend. The woman died of natural causes, I inquired with the office staff as to the cause of death, and they had no problems telling me about the autopsy report. Sometimes, all people have to do is show a bit of iniative (and that goes for finding out about an area before living there...APD has a great website to check out the crimes in a location, and I do use it.)
Yes, like many other city apartment complexes, there are, on occasion, break-ins. These happen more frequently when contractors are on site at Lincoln Oaks (just a trend I have noticed). Again, a co-worker's fiancee was attacked in their GATED apartment complex not far from here. It is a city, expect petty crime. It's why I chose to live on the third floor.
The staff at Lincoln Oaks is fantastic. I get along with every single one of them. I moved here without a place to live and they got me into an apartment in a couple of days. Maintenance is fast, and they actually do more than they're supposed to when I have a problem. Maybe I get special treatment because I treat all staff members with respect'
As a single woman living at Lincoln Oaks, I don't feel unsafe (which is different than feeling safe, mind you). I walk and get my mail at night, I use the hot tub at night... I have no hesitation in signing another year lease with them, if they offer me a decent price.
