Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I have to wonder if a couple of the reviews I've read here weren't submitted by the management staff. I have lived here for a year and, while not completely dissatisfied, I am not that happy either. There are a few things that I have not been thrilled with. The carpet is number one on the list. It is rather ragged Berber carpet that reminds me of a cheap motel. Within the first day or two, I noticed that when I walk around the apartment, the bottom of my socks (or bare feet) were nearly as black as if I'd been walking around in the parking lot. On the third day that I lived here I called management concerning the carpet situation; inquiring if it had been cleaned and seeking to have it cleaned again. I was told by the manager that because of the tight weave of the Berber carpet, dirt did not drop down between the fibers and that I needed to vacuum more often. She told me she had the same issue with her carpet. I had lived here for three days at that point, for Heaven's sake, and had vacuumed after completing my move-in. Since that time, several old stains have surfaced, like a large water stain extending out from the bathroom door that I am willing to bet will reflect on my deposit refund. Vacuuming has never addressed the issue and I am highly dissatisfied with that. Bottom line...the management just didn't care. Other issues include only one dumpster/compactor on the property for 400 units. It is always overflowing and not at all convenient to most units. People leave trash outside their apartments on occasion. There is no recycling (which I thought was required by law). The theatre that they promote so heavily has no after hours support if you have problems...I have a separate story concerning that. I do not like the one-day notice they give for their many inspections. Try sleeping with the little girl living upstairs running around their apartment. That said, the apartment is in fairly nice order (other then the carpet) and I have had no major issues. This place may not be much different from other complexes. Most all of them are going to be more interested in your $$$ then they are in you. But...bottom line...I'd say keep looking. I am moving at the end of my first lease...soon. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ
