Hell on Earth' Yes, right here in Austin.

This place has got to be one of the worst places to live in Austin. Why people would stay in this complex for 4 years is beyond imagine unless they're close friends with the management. When I moved in to a 2/1 in Phase II (the "nice" and newer phase) the apartment still had dirty tampons and dirty socks in the bedrooms. When you walked across the floor your feet turned black. No joke. My dad had asked them before we signed the lease if they cleaned the apartments and if they steam-cleaned the mattresses and beds...um yeah right. They said, "Oh of course!" There was no way any fully functioning human could have walked into that apartment and thought-looks good no cleaning necessary. It didn't look like a single person had even walked in to check the apartment at all since the previous renters moved out. When we tried to get maintenance to come clean the apartment, they never came. They never came to fix any of the things in the apartment which were broken despite our incessant phone calls. We had so many problems with them during the year. Management is absolutely terrible. It's run by college kids our age who pretend they're listening and helping you out and are really just trying to get you off the phone. When it came time to get security deposits back I got less than half of what I put in. When I requested an itemized-deduction list they took out CLEANING FEES (which due to the condition of my apartment when I first moved in, I KNOW they never use)for like 50 bucks. And then I was charged for REPAIRS (which coincidentally were not listed as to WHAT was needed for repair...and what was broken when we moved in had never been fixed-but it was on our move-in sheet so they weren't supposed to charge for that)another 50 bucks. I had spent two days before moving out cleaning the apartment and making any repairs I could (which wasn't even really needed). My boyfriend who lived in Phase I the same time period, on the other hand, left his apartment in a complete disaster. There were bags of trash (which they say they charge 25 bucks for each bag of stuff left behind) everywhere, the place was a mess (they had a party the night before move-out), the base boards were ripped from the walls and the carpet was a dark shade of black (it's supposed to be light gray). They got all but 50 bucks back from their deposit. How' Who knows. If you're going to live there, I'm sorry. Get out if you can. I'm not joking. I don't know anyone who stays there more than a year. They have so many complaints but no one ever takes them to court so nothing happens and they get away with it. If you want to know what it's really like there try asking around. Ride the NR bus-everyone knows how horrible it really is. Also-beware of tanning beds. My roommate used it twice (big mistake) and it started smoking each time and they closed them down for a day.
