I cannot stress how horrible these apartments are. They're built extremely cheap, so everything breaks easily (drywall in my until started crumbling; appliances constantly broke as well). Not to sound like a broken record, but the maintnance sucks as well. I can't really blame the guy doing the work though, there's only one of him. College Park is obviously too cheap to pay for any additional labor. It seems with every passing year they try to add new and better "extras" to the complex (i.e.- ethernet (3 months late)}. Nobody here has yet to really mention that they've been constantly upping the price of rent every passing year as well. None of these "extras" are free. They really screw you with the leases too. A one year lease means you pay the entire year (good luck finding anyone dumb enough to live here during the summer viz sub-let). What's really shady about College Park is that they make you renew your lease half way through your current one. So pretty much, you have to sell your soul to them or they'll lease your place out to somebody else by the end of your contract.

I was fortunate enough to get out of the damned place. I opted to rent a house near campus with my College Park roommate, and we love it. The place is more spacious and is closer to campus. Believe it or not, the rent for the house is $200 cheaper than what we were paying together at College Park. My advice is to check out the housing situation in the west and north campus areas, you'll probably find a sweet deal.

I'd rather be a drag rat than live at College Park.

p.s.- to dude/chick/neuter that bitched about "whiney-ass rich kids" complaining about College Park while their parents spot them rent.....

You must be the dumbest ------- person on the face of the Earth. From what I gather you have to WASTE your "hard earned" money at College Park. I paid my own way through that --------. Staying there would have been the biggest mistake in my colegiate career.
