I lived at 4700 E. Riverside drive from the day that it opened for business in apt 1117B until 2001 when I graduated & lived in 1437.....APT 1437 is on the 3rd floor of the building on the left side of the Riverside clubhouse with the balcony facing the road that used to go to Melrose & my bedroom window faced Riverside...when I graduated in 01 the carpet was dirty then, the gates NEVER worked, you could see an HEB cart going down Riverside in rush hour traffic full of groceries & a baby in the seat & a woman pushing it...going by right when you needed to speed across into the complex......I lived in apt 1437 on the 3rd floor & the air condition would rack up a nasty bill during the summer "I can only imagine now", It was Jefferson Commons first & College Park till I left there. I had many arguments with the staff there about many little things, but I graduated in 01 & moved back to Houston & the fact is that even paying $1,175 a month at my apt now here in Houston, there's problems wherever you live & looking back on it....living at 4700 E. Riverside really wasnt that bad, I learned a lot of things living there that prepared me for the real world & it was DAMN cheap compared to living on west campus back then. I guess I'd have to say if I had to do it all over again....I'd live at 4700 E. Riverside all over again because it was the BOMB living there & I was able to study in my own room. HELLO PEOPLE, WHENEVER YOU LIVE IN ANY APT COMPLEX, EVEN PAYING A HEFTY RENT LIKE I AM NOW......KNOW....THERE IS NO PERFECT APT COMPLEX SO IF YOU DONT LIKE 4700 E. RIVERSIDE GET READY CAUSE IT WONT BE A WALK IN THE PARK ONCE YOU GRADUATE & MOVE INTO A NORMAL APT COMPLEX..I guess I just liked living at College Park but I did ----- & ----- about it when I lived there back then too. I do have to say that I never had my car broken into while I was there & I never felt unsafe while I lived there even though the gates were always open like Moses parting the Red Sea.
