Sure, the staff will be great before you sign, but once you do...
They will refuse to make any cosmetic upgrades to your apartment, they will not shampoo carpets or paint walls, regardless of how horrible the unit looks. They WILL blame you for things that your roommates or neighbors have done. They WILL impose fines for rules that aren't posted anywhere on property or in your lease. They DO business with a towing company that randomly enters the property and tows vehicles out by the airport. That'll cost you OVER $200.00. They WILL lie to your roommates and pit everyone in the apartment against each other when complaints are made. They WILL NOT do anything about vadalism or theft to your property, since they are not liable.
The staff is completely ignorant to the needs of tennants. They spend more time hitting on residents than worrying about being professional. Actually, it reminds me of high school, what with selective enforcement of "rules" and fines and selectively providing service. The corporate office for this property is located in Massachusetts so forget about getting any help from them where management issues are concerned.
Look, these apartments used to be OK when they had the cheapest rent in Austin. With all of the recent increases in rent, accompanied by decreases in level of service, you're better off ponying up an extra $100 a month to live somwhere decent.
