Oh, Wow. As I have been here for six months, and I have still yet to become acclimated to seeing the parties, and public drunkiness. For those who consider themselves studious and hope to finish college in a timely manner (or for that matter just finish), then this is not the place for you. The roomate matching system is analogous to rolling fixed dice, and in essence screwing yourself over. When I initially moved in here, I walked into my shared bathroom, and discovered a combination of puke all over the toilet and women's lingerie. When I asked the current roomate living there, the only response from her very limited brain capacity was that, "it was the roomate living here before" then promptly picked up her bras and left. My impression from her is that she just works, and has no intellectual aspirations. Furthermore, she smokes all the time (Amazingly I don't smoke, and was still matched with this idiot), and leaves trash everywhere. Pissed off, I went to the office to complain, and was told that, "my prior roommate had two days to go before her lease is up, and since I moved in on her side in that time frame it was now my responsibility". My next option was pursuing legal action, but how many students have the money to hire a lawyer' The managment could care less, and don't give me that crap about just trying to make a living. Do your job!
So, I tried to suck it up since I only had a six month lease, but then comes the next roommate..... This girl also smokes, (I failed to mention that I am a guy, initially it didn't seem bad moving in with woman, but these women are disgusting) and everytime I walk past her room or am attempting to sleep because I have an exam the next morning she is having "relations" with some guy whose face I never see twice (one of them asked me for change). She also parties, and the smoke keeps me up until all hours of the night as well as the people. One night I walked outside to have dinner with a friend, and we spotted some drunk trash defecating on the side of my building.
To sum up, if you can handle it or if your lucky enough to have your buddies move in with you (not everyone can)then DO NOT MOVE IN. This apartment will seperate those who are losers, those who want to finish college, and those who REALLY want to finish college, and thus leave riverside as the ignorant cesspool it really is. My advice is hang in there, be studious and by god don't leave any of your food out of your room or for that matter saltshakers, utensils, detergent I don't know anything that can be bought or sold for crack.
